Until We Meet Again

Ming drove himself to the nearest clinic for emergency check up. His eyes bloodshot with tears streaming down all over his face. His left cheek bruised and swollen. The pain he felt on his back wasn't excruciating but neither it was mild to be ignored.

He was scared as he was going through the emergency check ups. His palms clutching the bed sheets with his eyes fixed on the monitor for any indication of issue. He never thought these feelings would occur to him but he was scared to loose his baby.

Joe might have left him but this was the last thing he has left with him and he wanted to cherish this for the remaining of his life. He was regretting every moment he had spend resenting himself or Joe for being pregnant but this turned out to be the most important thing in his life.

Nothing felt more relieving than being discharged with a clear exam and an update on the healthy heart beat of the child. He was eight weeks along which meant he needed to keep himself more protected and healthy for the sake of his baby.

Lying in bed aimlessly felt wrong to him. He had no plan for his future or his child's future. He wished he could at least inform Joe what's happening but unfortunately there was still no information on what he was doing.

A messaged popped up on his phone indicating all his credit cards were blocked and his apartment lease was cancelled. He cursed getting up from bed and called his sister pacing the room anxiously.

"Hello"

"Has dad cancelled all of my income sources?", he asked without any courtesy questions.

"Ming, I'm afraid dad might remove you from inheritance as well"

"WHAT HE CAN'T DO THAT NOT WHEN-", he hesitated before saying, "You know what I mean."

"I know and I'm really really sorry that this came out this way, tong is extremely apologetic for putting you in this situation he really didn't mean to do this"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Oh Ming you don't know, yesterday when Tong was drunk I don't know what he was thinking but he took those pictures from your apartment and sent it to the dad's secretary.".

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM, HE IS ALWAYS RUINING MY LIFE", he screamed over the phone.

"Please calm down Ming, I'm very very sorry and he will also apologize to you"

"Whatever, right now I have better things to worry about. There's also your wedding in few days"

"About that Ming, you shouldn't attend it, dad might flip again and it may harm you. Sorry"

"BUT THIS IS- never mind I don't want to stress myself, bye"

It's only been 2 days and the new tenants have already been demanding him to move out of the apartment. He has no place other than Joe's house to go to and this is his best option. One day Joe might come back and feel welcomed by this family. May be. That's for the future.

In the next two days, he moved all his belongings to Joe's house and started to settle down. He needed to figure out a source of earning to support himself specially considering he might not be able to work for approximately six months including before and after of his delivery.

Most days Ming cried at the most absurd time and over weirdest reasons. He can't help it when he thinks about how Joe might have cooked him anything he craved in the middle of night. Sometimes he thought of how being hugged and cuddled by Joe and it makes him bawl his eyes.

He was thankful due to his connections he was able to find a remote job that allowed him rest most days and didn't have to struggle too much commuting. He tried to save as much as could even though he knows he had enough saved up separately to last him about a year. But as he started to think about the potential issues in the future he can't help but worry.
