“How long has she been with you that you're letting her talk to me like that? It's unacceptable.” Denise huffed angrily.

“She is no one and you were rude.” I said, rolling my eyes.

“You're defending her? What she said wasn't rude to you?”

“She was rude too and I'll let her know that. Now if you may, I have places to be.”

Why the fuck would I be defending anyone? She is crazy.

“We haven't even begun talking. Stay for a few minutes at least.” She held my hand and took me to the rooftop. I let her drag me away because if I don't then she'll keep this up until I eventually do.

“Your mom insisted that I come here. She said you were so stressed because of work that you couldn't come to meet me.”

I bet mom told her once and she was already packing her bags but the latter part was true.

“It's not easy for me to make time.” I shrugged and looked ahead at the farm where the supplies for our canteen come from.

It is a place where I came across six years ago. The four bastards and I were on a trip and Kai motherfucker drove the car into a fucking tree. It was two in the night and we had to walk half a mile to find civilization for help.

They had great hospitality and were struggling financially. So I suggested it to my dad later and we offered them a deal.  That was not sympathy, I had seen their potential in the little amount of fruits and vegetables they harvested and served us.

“Ahem, well I'm a little embarrassed to say this but I think you should seriously consider us now.” She said with a solemn face.

“Denise, you will find many suitable men out there.” I sigh. We have not been through this many times, I always kept dodging it.

“Why? Why not you? I only want to be with you even if it means to fight a few…. competitors.”

“I can't let you….”

“I don't care. It's my right to pursue the love of my life.” She huffed for the fifth time since we came here.

“It's just infatuation.” I mumbled, looking down.

“I'll see you later. I have to go now.” I turned away and left.

But she followed closely, causing me to halt and peer down at her.

“The least you can do for me is have lunch together.” She wiggled her eyebrows and a small smile slipped through my lips.

Right. She used to do that alot when we were in school and her lunches usually disturbed my schedule but it was fun. She used to be a fun company before this whole obsessive phase began.
