Chapter 3:- Revealing Connections

The next morning, Dev awoke with an unusual sense of excitement.

Last night’s meeting with Myra had left a strong impression on him, something he couldn't quite shake off.

He dressed in his usual crisp police uniform, ensuring every detail was perfect, and headed to the station.

As he walked in, Inspector Meera was already at her desk, preoccupied with paperwork.

She looked up and gave him a curious glance.

“Good morning, ACP. You look... different today”.

“Something happened last night?”Meera asked, a teasing smile playing on her lips.

Dev smirked. “I met an old friend and made a new one. It was an interesting evening.”

Meera raised an eyebrow. “Wanna Share”

Yaa, Sure “Arjun and I met up after a long time, and I also met Myra. Our mothers were college friends,” Dev explained.

“Ah, the Rathore family. I've heard about them. Seems like a good connection to rekindle,” Meera commented.

Dev nodded, a thoughtful look crossing his face,

“There’s something about Myra. She’s different. Anyway, we have work to do.”

The day passed quickly, filled with routine tasks and a few pressing cases.

As evening approached, Dev couldn’t help but think about Myra and her family.

The mention of her parents reconnecting with his family had caught his interest.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai , Myra was immersed in planning an upcoming charity event.

Her mind, however, kept drifting back to the previous evening.

Meeting Dev had remained something within her—a blend of curiosity and a rational sense of familiarity.

Her phone buzzed, pulling her out of her thoughts. It was her mother.

“Hi, Mom. How are you?” Myra answered cheerfully.

“I'm good, dear. Just wanted to remind you about dinner tomorrow night with the Raichands.

It'll be nice to reconnect,” her mother said.

“Yes, I remember. I'm looking forward to it,”Myra replied, a smile tugging at her lips.

The next day, Myra and her parents arrived at the Raichand residence.

The house was warm and welcoming, filled with the aroma of delicious home-cooked food.

Dev's parents greeted them with open arms, recalling about their college days with Myra’s mother.

Dev arrived shortly after, his presence commanding yet relaxed in the familiar setting. He greeted Myra with a warm smile.

“It's good to see you again, Myra,” he said, shaking her hand.

“You too, Dev. It’s nice to meet in a more relaxed setting,” Myra replied.

As dinner was served, the conversation flowed easily. Laughter echoed through the room as old stories were shared.

Myra’s Father Col. Rathore, recounted tales from his days in the army, while Dev’s mother, Neeta, and Myra’s mother, Sushma, recalled their college memories.

During the meal, Dev found himself drawn to Myra’s genuine laughter and the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about her work. There was a sincerity in her that he found refreshing.

“So, Myra,” Neeta began, “how's the event planning business going?”

“It's wonderful, Aunty. I recently planned a big charity event, and it was a huge success,” Myra replied with a smile.

“That's great to hear! You know, Dev is also doing really well in his field,” Neeta said, beaming with pride.

“Yes, I’ve heard. ACP at such a young age is quite an achievement,” Myra responded, glancing at Dev.

“Thank you, Myra. It’s demanding but rewarding work,” Dev said, a hint of modesty in his tone.

As the evening went on, Dev and Myra found themselves in deeper conversation, discussing everything from their childhood memories to their career aspirations.

There was an unspoken understanding between them, a connection that neither could deny.

When it was time to leave, Dev walked Myra and her parents to their car.

“It was a pleasure meeting you all. We should do this more often,” he said.

“Absolutely,” Myra replied, her eyes meeting his. “It was a wonderful evening.”

As they drove away, Myra couldn't help but feel that this was the beginning of something significant.
