When I was young, I remember so vividly that when reading history books about years and years ago, it is the exact same as now. Everyone on the planet is thinking of the future. And everyone always thinks of the future as amazing, full of easy technology to help you do anything, a fair, simple society, and many think of a friendly, personal robot to have at your own convenience. Everyone thinks of this not because they think it will be true, but because they want this to be true. Because they're scared.
I'ts not fully wrong. Technology helps with almost anything. Robots exist. Society is worse. Yesterday I bought a bag of 8 apples for $24.99. They were on sale, I got lucky. It was a 3 minute drive to the plaza of 10-50 buildings ranging from gas station size to colossal mega structures built by underpaid workers that don't want to live.
Going outside is pain. Mentally, physically, all around pain. To breathe, you need to wear a mask to get any oxygen. A handy tool, but the fact you have to use it at all is not the best thing to think about. You might be wondering why we wear these. The pollution in the air has made it so smog is really close to the ground. It's hard to even see, which is why there is also a headlight on the breathing mask. Once you convince yourself to go outside, there are constant ads on buildings, blimps, and people constantly coming up to you to sell you the stupidest thing you'll ever see for hundreds of dollars.
