Her Pov:
I hooted seeing my bestfriend pulling off in the outfit with her dance moves and she came over to hug me.
"Haw! Tune mujhe bataya kyu nahi tu aa rahi hai?."
I said, hugging the life out of Tanu as everyone stared at her after her mind blowing performance.
"Teri engagement hai yaar kaise na aati?"
I pulled away and asked.
"Uncle Aunty kaha hai?"
"Yaar vo nahi aa paaye. Thode din vahi ruk kar aayenge."
"Koi nii."
I hugged her again and said.
"Kitni achchi performance thi yaar!"
"Haan sach mei kitni achchi performance thi."
Suddenly, Lakshay's voice came from behind and we broke our hug.
I smiled at him and he smiled at Tanu, who smiled at me.
"Bohot sundar lag rhi hai."
I said, pinching her cheeks.
"Haan, bohot sundar lag rhi hai."
Lakshay said and I smiled at him and Tanu said.
"Chal main uncle aunty se mil kar aati hu."
"Haan chalo, uncle aunty se milkar aate hain."
Lakshay repeated after her and we both furrowed our eyebrows looking at him.
"Excuse me?"
Tanu said.
He gave a nervous smile and said.
"Excused ji."
Tanu smiled and shook her head looking at him and said to me,
"Main mil kar aati hu, phir tu mujhe jiju se milwaiyo, okay?"
"Okay."
She went and Lakshay followed her.
"Tum kaha jaa rhe ho?"
I asked, Lakshay who turned to look at me confusingly.
"Bhabhi vo aapki dost hai?"
Ye kyu puch rha hai?
"Haan, kyu?"
"Kuch nahi. Main aaya."
He said and before I could ask anything futher, he left.
"Ye kaha gya?"
I was startled by Agastya's sudden voice and shrugged my shoulders.
"Let's go and eat something."
I nodded my head listening to him and we took the place at the large dining table which was kept only for family.
We both sat at the front table and my side of the family sat on my left and my in laws sat on Agastya's right.
The servers served the food while we all talked.
I looked over at Tanu who rolled her eyes at something Lakshay said. They both were sitting opposite to each other but if anyone looked closer, one could tell there's something going on.
He smiled at her and she ignored him and said looking over at us.
"Jiju, pehli bite apne hath se nahi khilaoge?"
I blushed at her comment.
Agastya fed me the first bit and I too fed him. All of us finished eating and were all set to leave.
We all stood at the main door giving final byes.
Typical Indian family byes took longer than expected.
"Ab bass shaadi mein 4 hafte baki hain, Samdhi ji."
My father said to my father in law and both chuckled.
"Hanji bhai sahab."
Agastya winked at me and I lowered my gaze.
"Ohoo, aankhein ladayi ja rahi hain?"
Tanu whispered into my ears and I elbowed her.
"Papa shadi ke functions kab start honge?"
Lakshay asked, taking everyone's attention.
"Tu kyu puch raha hai?"
Agastya asked.
"General curiosity bass."
He shrugged off his shoulders.
"Bhai sahab. Shaadi Rajasthan, Jaipur mein hogi. Humari baaki family bhi vahin rehti hai, toh saare functions vahi honge."
My father in law said.
"Theek hai, toh sare functions ki date discuss karke or ladies ko saari shopping karwake hum chalte hain."
My father said and I touched their feet once again and Agastya joined me. We touched my parent's feet too and departed for home.
While Tanu also joined us as her parents are out of town, she's gonna live with us, in my room.
We reached home and were now sitting over the bed after changing into night pyjamas."Tere or mere devar ke beech kuch chal raha hai kya?" I asked her and she laughed.
I furrowed my eyebrows and she pulled my cheeks saying.
"Ohoo devar! Badi possessive ho rahi hai apne in-laws ke liye."
"Shut up!"
"Nothing is on between us. If it was... I'd have told you!"
I nodded with the information and said."And I'm not possessive, okay? I was just asking."
"Hnn-hnn."
She hummed and kept her face in my lap and started scrolling on instagram. I too started scrolling.
"By the way... Where are we going for your wedding? Udaipur?"
She asked and I chuckled.
"Jaipur."
"Right. It's gonna be so much fun bro! I have never been to Jaipur."
She said and excitement was visible in her eyes.
"Me too!"
I've never ever been to Jaipur. Mumbai? Yes. Uttarakhand? Yes. Kashmir? Yes. Ladakh? Yes. But- Rajasthan? No! I'm excited to see what this destination holds for me.
"Yaar.. You're having a destination wedding."
She said looking up at me and I winked.
"That, I am."
I pushed her face off my lap and we both slept parallel to each other and don't know when we slept.
I woke up the next morning and today, it was a shopping day.
I'll be shopping my wedding outfits, jewelleries, sandals and other makeup products. It's a whole good day waiting for me and I'm very excited.
I got dressed in a light green suit and Tanu got ready in a plain white kurti with light blue jeans. It's gonna be so much fun to shop with my mother - in - law. Malhotra's driver will be picking us up and it's just gonna be me and Tanu.
As mom have some work to see and mens aren't really interested in shopping.
We had breakfast and the car came. Tanu and I sat in the car and I asked the driver where is Mrs. Malhotra. He said she has already begun shopping and is waiting for us.
The car stopped infront of a big and luxurious mall and we got off the car. I do not know why the driver followed us but didn't bother to ask him why is he following.
The security was about to check me, when he said.
"She's Mr. Malhotra's fiance and that's her friend."
I looked at the security ladies and they nodded looking back at me. With shock.
"I guess your husband owns this place." Tanu whispered in my ear and I nodded and smiled.
The driver walked us to my mother in law and I greeted her by toching her feets. Lakshay was there and I expected for him to be here, too.
I sat on the couch and we were served some roohafsa.
I wish you were her too, Mr. Malhotra.
I shook my head and started looking at the hundreds of options of lehengas. Each colour of yellow, green, red, pink, purple were available.
Why would he be here? He has so much work to do. He's a CEO!
"Go and try this one, Aru beta." said my mother in law and I nodded.
I came out wearing the purple and silver border lehenga and looked at myself in the mirror while everyone looked at me with awe.
A light flicked at me and I saw Lakshay taking a picture of me. I smiled at the camera and he showed me a thumbs up.
"You look like a princess!" She said.
"Indeed, she's a princess, Aunty." Tanu said and my mother in law nodded saying
"yes, she is."
She rounded her hands around me and crackled her fingers around her temples.
"Come, let's try some more."
She said and I nodded.
This time, I came out wearing a multi coloured lehenga and saw him standing at the entrance with his arms crossed over his chest, leaning at the door frame.
Everyone's head was turned to me so, no one saw him.
He winked at me and my eyes widened with shock._________
