- Rex's original meta power, Technopathy. This allows Rex to manipulate different types of technology and machines; this also gives Rex the ability to somewhat communicate with machines and get information fast.
Nanites

- Years ago, Rex's parents were once STAR LABS scientists that were developing and study nanite bots collected from a unknown alien artifact. They reverse engineered these hoping it would help people in the medical industry, but before they could finish administering more tests Lex Luthor planned to steal them but luckily Superman was able to stop him.
- Unfortunately almost of the nanites were destroyed except for a few that managed to get stuck on Violetta, who was pregnant with Rex at the time and the nanites affecting him in the womb. The nanites would be dormant in his body until he was 17.
