Nobody's POV:

First day of the Goodwill Event - Monday

...

Before the start of the Spirit Bash Race...

11:55 AM

The room was awfully silent, just the sound of breathing humans and countless projectors whirring as they displayed screens showing a live feed of the forest. Two teachers sat side by side in the far left corner, staring forward with no thoughts in mind as they awaited for noon.

"Tired?" the raven haired woman asked to break the tension, turning to her side.

"When am I not? Good thing reverse cursed technique refreshes my brain or else I'd probably be dead. Did you know that insomnia causes all sorts of health problems and side effects? These include irritability, lack of focus, mood swings, and, if left untreated, could lead to severe diseases like heart disease and diabetes! Could you imagine if I didn't have RCT? That thing's seriously a lifesaver. Did I ever tell you about how I even learned how to do it? It's a long story, but I wouldn't mind–"

"Gojo, listen, you talk way too much. You go on random redundant tangents that have no relevance to the current conversation. I asked a yes or no question, RESPOND WITH A YES OR NO!" Utahime lashed out, quickly regaining her composure as the heads of her colleagues whipped towards her. In embarrassment, she hid her flushed face and whispered, "Well um... does reverse cursed technique really refresh your brain? I've never heard of that before."

"It's okay my dear Utahime, and it sure does!"

"Makes me wonder why you're still an idiot. There is literally no explanation for your insane stupidity if your brain is always 'refreshed.' Such is a mystery of life..." she concluded while squinting her eyes at nothing in particular.

Gojo puckered his lips and scowled, realizing he walked right into that one as he leaned back on his chair and stared up at the lines of screens covering the front wall. Just a couple of minutes until noon and the start of the coveted Goodwill Event. Hopefully his students do well today and nothing unfortunate or disastrous happens!

"Can I ask why you're seated so close to me? There's a whole room with several dozens of seats, and you choose the one directly next to me," Utahime inquired with an unamused look in her eyes, the latter returning her gaze with an incredulous look painted on his face.

"Is that really a question?"

"First of all, clinging to me will obviously give away that there's something going on between us. Second of all, you and I aren't even together– I mean sure, we're close I guess, but I told you to give me time, whether it'd be a few minutes or until the end of our lives. So stop being such a clingy toddler and let's just take things slow." Iori whispered, burying her face into her hand and side-eyeing the latter.

"Mm, whatever you say. But, I'll wait. I don't mind waiting as long as it means I'll have you in the end. I think you're pretty worth it, I mean, why else would I be after the same woman for the past ten years?" Gojo grinned with a full set of white teeth, the latter's ears burning as she hid her blush by turning and ignoring him.

Even though they were grown adults, it was nice that they – most of the time – interacted the same way they did back then when they were younger. He's used the vast arrangement of flirtatious language, ranging from cheesy one-liners that made her burst out laughing, to deep and emotional ones that actually had her heart nearly jumping out of her chest. You could never know when it came to Satoru.
