"This boy's story begins heavy," Rengoku says.
"That's nothing to be surprised for," Shinazugawa says.
"I doubt things will look up for him, anytime soon," Shinobu says. "If he lives on... Even if a Hashira vouches for him, the rest of us will not."
"Yeah..." Mitsuri falters. "I mean, after watching this, I really want to, but honestly, I don't think I would be able to unless I were there myself. It's not worth the risk."
"Realistically, she was weird at the start, but how long will that restraint last?" Uzui says. "We're still not sure if it's just a one-time thing."
"For all we know, the next fresh meat they'll see will set her off," Kaigaku says, "wouldn't be surprised."
It's one thing to resist eating family, another thing to resist eating strangers, and another thing also to resist in the face of delicious, fresh blood— maybe even Marechi blood. There were so many unsure factors yet to be explored, and maybe it was too risky to even try exploring them. No one would give him the liberty to explore it at all.
Tanjirou's journey is laden with rocky hills, that's for sure.
"I'm sorry to bother, but may I have the basket over there, as well as some of the bamboo and straw?"
Once it's daytime, Tanjirou approaches the farmers.
"He's made it down, huh..." Uzui says, "It doesn't look like he went in the direction of the village from before."
"Would you want to stay in that village, just to tell them your entire family died?" Shinobu says. "Understand the poor boy a little. Being coddled and protected now when he's in a rush is probably the last thing he needs."
Shinazugawa pointedly averts his eyes at that statement.
"Is this kid seriously asking for permission to take trash?" Obanai frowns.
"If people left it out, I suppose it's free to take, but it's always polite to ask," Rengoku says.
"But the bamboo and the straw, too? They're growing everywhere!" Mitsuri says, "this boy's too much of a good boy!"
"I can see where he's coming from," Shinobu says. "Wouldn't want to be branded a vandal if you're not quiet with it."
"Ugh. Sounds like he'll be a pain in the ass to deal with," Kaigaku says.
