Miguel was as normal as any other person in the town, well he looked like any other person looked but he knew he wasn't normal infact he was far from normal. Miguel nibbled at his cheese, he was starving but he knew that cheese or any other food he would get would fill him, he was hungry for flesh, human flesh. His crow, Mort, was sitting beside him on an empty chair. Mort hated Miguel and vice versa but, unfortunately, they were stuck together, Mort Couldn't leave Miguel, Mort was Miguel's alarm, his dinner alarm. Every evening Mort call out that horrible shriek that crow shriek and Miguel would lose control, every living thing he saw, he would eat. He was the cause of the curfews and the murders and all the stories in the locl newsletter. He was a spirit monster, a descendant of the evil things that were banished to the forests, he was one of the spirit babies. Miguel was scared of himself and the light keepers, if they found him he would be banished or worse executed, he was also scared of hurting people. He was the cause of every murder this in this town, the only other way people died was of old age, the town was so bloody sfe nd boring that there ws no other way to die, Miguel was forever guilty.
Miguel lived in his own in one of the many houses on the dry land, all the houses were white and identical, nobody bothered to personalise they were boring people. This was Miguel's first year living alone, his first year working in the shift tower where everone wprked to keep the world alive. For all the other years of his life Miguel lived in an orphanage for he had never seen his parents, the women in the orphanage (They're hobby was to run the orphanage, like everyone else they also worked in the shift tower) said they just found him on the door step. Miguel never thought about his parents, they left him so he wasn't going to waste his time on them. Nine of the years in the orphanage he was a threat to everyone but himself and Mort, though he actually wanted to eat Mort.
Miguel stands up and walks out the door. Outside it is raining, just like even other day, Miguel put up the hood of his jacket. The ground was glowing softly, that was about the only nice thing about the town. He makes his way over to the shift Tower for his shift. Miguel hated this job but it was the only way to get food, clothes and hobby tokens which were to tokens to use buildings such as libraries and movie picture rooms. Bay, his close friend stood by the tower in a harness and jacket identical to Miguel's. A man started fitting a harness to Miguel and Bay walked over to meet him, her scarlet red hair swishing behind her. "Hello, Miguel." She said, as the man started attaching ropes to them. "Hi, Bay, how are you?" He asked, he always felt awkward near her.
"I'm good thanks." She answered, smiling.
"Kk, guys you can start climbing up the tower now." Said the rope guy cheerful as always. They began the nine hour climb up the wall in silence, it was tough job.
