CAMILA DEVINTS

I'm spinning my straw around in my smoothie sitting on the bar stool at Maes. It was the first time I've ever been to her house.

Last time she told me she lived with her sisters, which im not sure where they are.

She pulls up a stool across the island to sit with me.

A huge smile gleams on her face as she prepares to speak. "Keith slept over last night."

My eyes widen and a laugh comes out. "Did he?"

She rolls her eyes at me. "We didn't do anything. Unlike you and Gabriel, we just cuddle."

I shake My Head at her. "I've known him for a while."

She laughs, stopping herself showing she didn't mean for that to slip out. "Girl, you've had sex with him and you guys aren't even dating. That's pretty out of the ordinary. He's taking a while to ask."

I immediately cut in. "It was a one time thing!"

"You can't just keep saying that, it won't make it true."

"Look, me and Gabriel aren't ever going to date. Never ever, ever, I don't have those feelings for him. He doesn't have those feelings for me. It's done."

I lied. I do have feelings for him.

"Mhm.." she laughs, before her words stop when a girls voice echos through the room.

"Ava, is Keith here again?" I look up to see an unfamiliar face standing by the entrance of the kitchen.

Mae immediately answers, turning around. "Nope. This is Camila. Camila this is my sister, Riley." She gestures.

Riley puts her hands on her hips. She looks definitely older than me. I'm 22, so she has to be at least older.

"Hm.. finally have a friend." She chuckles, opening the fridge and stuffing through.

"Riley!" She groans.

"How old are you?" I ask, my curiosity getting the best of me.

Mae was 21. A year younger than me. Its an odd coincidence that it just happened to be that she was so close to age in me when I met her.

Riley pulls out a can that looks to be beer. Beer drinker. Suspected.

She pops open the bottle and drinks the slightest bit. "27."

I nod.

"Ava, by the way, me and Sammy are going to the club tonight, possibly hook up with some bitches. Feel free to do something with your little boyfriend tonight." She sips her beer again before walking out of the room, slamming her door.

Mae looks at me with a grimaced face.

"She's nothing like you." I laugh.

She rolls her eyes. "Let's just say before my parents matured at parenting, they raised her differently than us." She shakes her head.
