"I found something." Sam said, looking up at Dean. "What's up?" Dean leaned over to look at Sam's computer. "People are going missing in Colorado. Seven people missing, stuff moving around the missing peoples homes, the vic's voices are still being heard. Kinda sounds like our thing." Sam turned his computer so Dean could see it better."Yea, sounds good, let's go." Dean grabbed his jacket and keys and left the bunker with Sam following close behind. After speaking to all the vic's loved ones, they went to a motel and got food. As they ate, they wondered what could be going on. They didn't find a single hex bag, no sulfer, the EMF was clean, and no sign of angels. They didn't know what it could be.
The next morning, Sam woke up to find Dean wasn't in his bed. "Dean?" Sam called out towards the bathroom, but he got no response. He looked outside to find the Impala was missing as well. After calling and texting Dean, he heard the motels door knob turn with a squeak. Dean walked in, holding cups of coffee and a bag of burgers.
"Morning, Sammy. I brought food, so eat up. I have a weird plan, so we're going to the first vic's house after we eat." Dean sat at the table by the window and unwrapped a burger. Sam started eating as well, "what's this plan?" Dean looked up at him, grabbing a napkin.
"So... we don't know what it could be, right? There's no trace of vamps or werewolves. There's no EMF, no sulfer, no dead people with burnt eyeballs, and we both know angels don't clean up after themselves, so it can't be angels. So... what if they're not dead? Or even missing. What if they're still there, but not at the same time, you know?" He took another bite.
Sam raised his eyebrows, "So... you mean... like they're stuck behind some sort of curtain or something? Like the veil?" Dean shook his head, "No, no... I mean... ok, remember that one time we had to deal with that one kid... Jesse? When everything he knew came true? And that time where we had to fight the shifter who was acting as all those old timey monsters?"
Sam scoffed, "yea, the Dracula- Werewolf- Mummy guy? Dean, what do they have to do with this?" Dean smiled and put his burger down. He waved his hands excitedly, "What if... we're dealing with the invisible man? Huh? Yea?" He wiggled his eyebrows with a sort of childlike sparkle in his eyes.
"I guess it wouldn't be the craziest thing we've dealt with. There was that one kid who wished to be invisible at that fountain. But how would we even help them? It's not like we could see the invisible man." Sam moved his hands around as he spoke.
"That brings us to my plan. We're gonna go to the first vic's house. She's a teenager, so she's probably just hanging out in her room. So we go there, check the place out, get in her room... then try to talk to her. It'll work, trust me." Dean reassured as he finished his burger.
"Whatever, man. It won't hurt to try it out, then what do we do if that doesn't work?" Sam responded, throwing his wrappers and napkins in the garbage. "Uh, we'll figure it out when we get there. Let's go." Dean left the motel, waiting for Sam in the car.
They got to the first victims house, a 15 year old girl named Callie. "Hey, Mrs. Billings, can we come in and take another look around?" Sam said in a soft voice. "Of course, come on in." Mrs. Billings eyes were puffed and red, and her face was stained with tears.
Dean gave a nod and a smile before walking up the stairs to Callies' room. As he walked in, he noticed a lot of things out of place. Her drawers were open with clothes missing, stuff on her desk had moved around, and her bed looked as if it had been slept in since the last time they were there.
"Callie? My name is Dean. If you're up here, can you move something around or tap my arm, please?" Dean looked around the room, looking for anything that might start moving. "I can talk, you know." Callie said, her voice coming from directly in front of him.
Dean jumped at the sound of her voice, "Oh. Sorry, how did you... what happened to you?" Callies desk chair spun and dipped slightly as she sat down, "about a week ago, a man broke in while I was home alone, so I hid in my closet to call 911. And then he came into my room and pulled me out of the closet, but as soon as he touched me, I went invisible. I've been trying not to talk to my mom so she doesn't get too scared."
Dean nodded, "did you get a good look at the guy?" Callie thought for a moment before responding, "No, he was invisible too until he grabbed my arm. All I saw was his back when he immediately ran out of my room." Callie started playing with a pencil on her desk.
A silence broke into the room as Dean was thinking of what to do next. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, they both heard a loud bang come from down stairs, "Dean!! Deannnn!!!!" Sam yelled, sounding like he was in the middle of a fight. Dean ran downstairs. "Sam?! Where are you?" He looked around for Sam, but nobody was there. Not even Mrs. Billings.
"Um... im right here..." Sam muttered from behind Dean. "Uh... Sam? Now you're invisible? Great." Dean wiped his forehead. "What are we supposed to do now, we've got the invisible man on a rampage, and now my partner is invisible too." Sam chuckled, "wait... maybe this could work." Dean looked up at the open room, not knowing exactly where Sam was. "How could this work?"
"It could work because you should call Garth, and I'll walk around and find all the other vic's. I can see Callie right now. So, get another partner, and I'll round everyone up and look for the invisible man." Dean nodded, "Ok, you're right. Maybe this will work." He called Garth.
As soon as Garth got there, he called out to Sam, who just so happened to have collected all the victims and gotten back to the Billings' house. They heard another loud bang, and Sam, Dean, and Garth got ready to fight. They were depending on Sam to tell them where he was.
Without any warning, Sam had tackled the invisible man, who then became not so invisible. "Why are you turning people invisible?" Sam yelled as both Dean and Garth pointed their guns at the man. "I just thought it was funny, I wasn't hurting anyone. I'm sorry, please let me go." He held his hands up and closed his eyes, his voice shaking in fear.
Sam rolled his eyes and stood up, "Stop turning people invisible and fix everyone, now." The man put everyone back to normal and ran away.
Sam, Dean, and Garth went back to the motel and laughed about the situation, "Ok guys, im out of here. Call me next time you go invisible Sam." Garth laughed as he left the room.
"Good thing I wasn't invisible for long." Sam sighed. "Why? You didn't like being invisible?" Dean took a sip of beer, "no, two of the teenage girls were hitting on me while you were outside waiting for Garth. I had to pretend like I couldn't tell." Sam raised his eyebrows as Dean started wheezing from laughter, "You gotta be kidding me, man."
