The mall was buzzing with life, the usual weekend crowd moving about, but my world felt a little quieter today. I walked beside Bhaiya and Reyansh, the comfortable routine of our friendship wrapping around me like a warm blanket. But something felt different, an undercurrent of emotion I couldn't quite place.

We wandered through shops, pausing at a store window showcasing the latest designs, and for a moment, I caught myself glancing at Reyansh, wondering if he liked them. I shook the thought away, laughing internally. Why would it matter? I quickly returned to chatting with Bhaiya.

Then, Aayansh showed up.

He was striking. His blue eyes were sharp, and his smile could make anyone's heart flutter. His messy dark hair fell perfectly, like he'd stepped out of a movie scene. Objectively, he was everything a girl might dream of. But I didn't feel anything. No quickened pulse. No sense of awe. Just a mild curiosity.

"Ira??... Amaira, you good?" Bhaiya asked, his eyes darting to where I had been staring.

I blinked, embarrassed. "Oh, yeah, just admiring the view." I tried to sound casual, but my mind was somewhere else.

Bhaiya followed my gaze to Aayansh and smirked. "Ah, you mean him? Aayansh just got back from Paris. We've been friends since high school."

Before I could respond, Aayansh approached, his steps deliberate, eyes fixed on me. "Arjun, who's your friend here?" His voice was smooth, but there was something about his intensity that made me uncomfortable.

I straightened, offering a polite smile. "I'm Amaira—Arjun Bhaiya's sister."

His surprise was evident, his blue eyes widening slightly. "Sister? Didn't know Arjun had one."

Bhaiya, always the protective older brother, wrapped an arm around my shoulder with a grin. "The one and only. Ira, I mean Amaira, meet Aayansh."

"Nice to meet you," I said, keeping it simple, hoping he wouldn't press too much.

But as we chatted, I could feel Aayansh's eyes linger on me longer than necessary. It was flattering, I suppose, but it left me cold. I glanced at Reyansh, who had been unusually quiet. He stood off to the side, his face unreadable, his eyes flickering between Aayansh and me. I couldn't figure him out—was something wrong?
