***"I want you to meet your new stepfather, the love of my life, Fabien De Niro."
I stood between my sisters, my eyes set on my mom only right now. Her insistent nods for me to say something, anything...
"Daddy would not approve of him mom," Eda, the eldest out of the two of younger sisters, speaks up first. Her expression set on Fabien, the man I haven't seen since that time in the club, was that of displeasure. "He's known by everyone. Everyone knows who he is."
"I don't care. He is turning over a new leaf for me. Your father would be happy that I found love again ever since his passing. This is what he'd want," She insists very quickly despite her withering disposition, her eyes flickering onto me quickly, "right Desmond?"
Now I look at him, I'm seeing him now. I am seeing the man that told me we'd see each other again. He did say he'd make sure of it, but not like this.
He was still as mouthwatering as I remember. His scent that I haven't smelled again in five years, was before me again. I had to keep it from overwhelming my senses.
"Desmond please say something? I trust in your judgement."
"I think...you look happy." I say.
She smiles, linking arms with Fabien who broke his eye contact with me to smile at her.
"For now."
My mom looks back, and I see Fabien not look back at me. His smile did cease as I could tell he wondered if I'd say anything. I would never, not when she is actually smiling again.
Ever since our father died from cancer almost a year ago, she has never been the same. The doctors even said that she could possibly die from heartbreak if she continued on this route. Even if...she married Fabien and they met however way they did, I know it's only momentary.
Just as momentary as the moment him and I shared.
Yet, how long will this moment last?
"When did you two even meet? You never said anything." Silva questioned in a panic, the youngest out of all of us. "Did you two elope? Without us, mom?"
"I just wanted to call him mine so badly and he proposed. What's so wrong about that? We met two weeks ago, but so what?"
"Mom!" Eda and Silva exclaim with tones of anger and pain.
I remain silent, continuing to look at him. He has yet to look at me again, is it out of shame? No...he doesn't seem like the shameful type considering how he behaved back then. He's now...thirty nine, he is fifteen years older than me. I just turned twenty-five, so he must be onto becoming forty.
If he was thirty-nine and still living such a life, he has no shame.
Do I care?
I don't know yet.
"I came back here because of Fabien, he insisted; so you should be thanking him." Our mom states dryly. "We were to go on a honeymoon to Jamaica, but he insisted I bring the three of you as well. So that he could get to know each and everyone of you properly. You can't not say that isn't respectable."
"We don't care what it is, Desmond," Eda tugged on my arm desperately for me to counter and argue against such an idea, "say something! This is horrible! That man is going to ruin us, I know it!"
My eyes now leave Fabien, looking down at her as I grin. I could tell that she knew what that meant and I could tell that she was offended I wasn't agreeing. Except I need to speak to him, and if us going will allow me that privilege, I'll take it.

De Todo"You're obsessed." As was I; I chuckle, grabbing his wrist as I yank it off of me. Only for him to grab it again and I don't fight it. "Don't act like you're not." To be honest...I liked this. I was obsessed with him too, no matter how wrong this...
