The eery quietness of the manor mixed with my yells and Theodore's stern voice echoing throughout was not helping calm our nerves. Draco's gaze flickering between us both the new found stillness of the room feeling strange, our negative energies looming over the Malfoy manors long halls. The atmosphere outside not helping with our glum moods, the rain pattering off the window pain a sound I had came to enjoy.
" I will not let you do this, you just can't. There has to be another way. "
" Esme... Please. "
Silence.
I couldn't bring myself to answer him, what else was there to say there was no possible way he wouldn't go through with it. I knew it, He knew it, There was nothing I could do to stop him so I turned around and walked out the door. Leaving him alone. I walked quickly to under a tree to shield myself from the rain and reached into my pocket for a cigarette, using my wand to light it.
The Malfoy manors doors quickly opening and closing even quicker, a small petite figure jogging over to me I didn't have to see them to know who it was. Delphine was over by my side with a cigarette already in between her fingers. I took a drag as I lighted it for her.
" is he doing it, like is actually going to do it?" Delly muttered looking at the radiating moon.
"Yup. I can't stop him."
"I'm so sorry Ezzy." She spoke in almost a whisper leaning her head on my shoulder, I just shook my head not wanting to speak.
I put my cig out and started to wander the path back inside Delly conjoined at my hip like always. Once inside I just slumped down outside the meeting hall door, just off to the side. Waiting. Half an hour goes by and nothing is happing. Delphine is inside with her parents probably suffering just as much as I am. The silence was far too much and I have no idea how her and Draco deal with it for summers at a time.
An ear piercing scream emitted from behind the closed door. His scream. My beloved brother was in side that room devoting his whole life to something that with either make him take others lives or spend the rest of his own locked up, for me. Just hearing his pain made me close my eyes and cover my own ears. Slow and salty tears slowly streaming down my face.
I couldn't take this.
