(Edit: I accidentally made Scorpio a fire sign when he's really a water sign ^^"" oops. But it's fixed now!)

Gemma and I make it to class on time and take our seats next to each other. There are only twelve seats aside from the teacher's, most of them filled up already. This is one of my classes that is closed off to anyone beside the Gods and Goddesses of the zodiac so only the twelve of us are allowed in here. We are divided into four different groups depending on our element. For example mine is air; all signs possess basic elemental powers aside from other ones exclusive to their signs. Gemma and God of Libra are also in the air division, the Goddess of Virgo, God of Taurus, and God of Capricorn are earth signs, God of Scorpio, Goddess of Pisces, and Goddess of Cancer are water signs, and God of Leo, Goddess of Aries, and God of Sagittarius are fire signs.

"Good morning class."

"Good morning Sir." We all reply in unison as our instructor stepped out from behind his desk, revealing his long, muscular legs and sturdy hooves. Hooves? Yeah, our instructor is Chiron the Centaur, the revered trainer of heroes on earth and the gods in the heavens. Since man developed machinery and mechanized militant weapons, there hasn't been any need for him on earth so now he resides in the heavens and has dedicated his time to training young Gods and Goddesses.

"I hope you all have been practicing outside of class because today we are going to have a one on one battle simulation."

Everyone groans and mumbles. "Tsk get ready Teach, this time I'm going to beat you!" Somebody shouts haughtily.

"Oh ho ho, very tempting Leo," Chiron chuckes, "but today you are going to pair up and fight against each other." Everyone looks at each other nervously.

With a quick flick of the wrist, a small hologram-like screen, showing the class roster, materializes in front of him and he begins calling out pairs. I start to panic inside. I've always sucked at controlling my element, I'm the water bearer for Zeus' sake, so why am I an air sign?! My mind flips back to the time I accidentally created a tornado in the cafeteria. Ahh...good times...I mean...oops.

"Aqua!"

Huh did he call me?? What were we doing again? "Present!" I shout at the top of my voice. This time I was going to get it right.

Chiron shakes his head, "Glad to see you too Aqua, you will be paired up with Scorpio." Oh never mind,I guess he wasn't taking attendance. I glance at Gemma and she has on a face of amused pity for me. 'I heard he almost killed some one' rings in my head, sending a shiver down my spine.

"And since you 're so enthusiastic this morning, why don't you and your partner start." Chiron adds sarcastically. Ugh why am I such a space case?!

I slowly get out of my desk and make the short stroll up to the front of the classroom. Scorpio's already there. I gulp cowardly at the sight of him. His dark hair is hiding his face but I can feel those eyes piercing into me like needles. He is dressed black from his collared shirt to his dark jeans and shoes. There are two bronze circular emblems on the ground and we each stand on one.
"Scorpio and Aquarius, the rules remain the same however because it's a mandatory law, I will repeat them. You are not fighting to draw blood. You must not use any powers besides your elemental ones. And you are being judged based on your skill and strategy as well as personal fighting style. If you are to breach any of these laws, you will be disqualified and receive a Φ and your opponent will automatically win." Chiron booms in his gruff, deep voice.
"Now without further a do, let the battle begin!" He raises his arms up and two force field walls isolate us from the rest of the class.

I snap my fingers and in an instant, my normal clothes become a short, flowing, dark blue tunic with long sleeves. A silver headpiece with sapphires and aquamarines rests on my head and silver gladiator sandals wrap around my feet and weave up my legs. A black tattoo of the Aquarius symbol reveals itself on my neck and various gold and silver jewelry adorns my neck, legs, and arms while a string of blue beads forms loosely around my waist and a long sash, attached to the cuffs around my wrist, flows behind me. This is my true form. All Gods and Goddesses have a true form but we are only allowed to show it during battle because it allows us to access our full potential powers.

I wait for Scorpio to do the same but he just stands there. 'What a weird dude, whatever, this is my chance!' I lash my hand out and send a gust of wind straight at him. 'Woah he's still not reacting, maybe I'll really win this time!'

Before the wind hits him, I swear I catch him smirking a bit. Suddenly he swiftly dodges my attack and throws back a water attack. I cross my arms, creating a shield of wind and block it but the impact, itself sends me sliding back a couple of feet. Some water pierces through my shield and cuts the sides of my face. How is this possible?! He isn't even in his true form.'

Not a second later, another attack comes speeding at me and without thinking I send out a tempest at him. The tornado tears across the room but to my horror, it becomes a hurricane?! Before I know it, he's using my own power against me. I try to stop it with more gusts of wind but they are only engulfed by the raging storm rushing towards me. At this rate I'm going to die, even though I can't die because I'm an immortal but you know what I mean..maybe. Impulsively, I raise my hand towards the ceiling, doing the only thing that I can think of doing, and wave it down, bringing down a flash flood.

The flood drowns not only me but also Scorpio and as it crashes against the force field barriers, the impact breaks them down and the flood empties into the rest of the classroom, sending everyone and everything into disarray. I realize that I've changed back into my normal form and struggle to find air. I quickly create an air bubble around myself so I can breathe and swim to the surface of the water. Bursting out of the water, I gasp for new breath as my temporary bubble dissipates. I catch a glimpse of some of the rest of the class and my wandering eyes fall on an angry Chiron. He glares at me angrily but swiftly takes care of the chaos by creating a dimensional tear, sending all the flood waters into another place and time. As the water resides, everyone gains back their awareness of the situation. I feel all their enraged glares at me and hear their unending rants.

"That was my new gown!!"

"My hair!! I just had it done."

"Ugh my essay is ruined."

Chiron slowly walks over to where I'm sitting on the ground. "You and Scorpio, have detention for a week! Never in my lifetime of teaching have I seen the rules been broken to such an extent!"

Guilt strikes me like a fiery arrow and I turn to glance at Scorpio who is wringing dry his hair. He glares at me and without a word before exiting the classroom.

"Hey! I'm not done with you yet!" Chiron shouts after him even after watching the door slam shut.

"Hold on, it's not his fault." I plead, not understanding why Scorpio has to receive repercussions. "I used my other powers out of defense, it had nothing to do with him."

"He tried to cause fatal harm. I saw what his intentions were." Chiron says, anger slowly leaving his stare. "You had every right to defend yourself but I cannot let your actions go unpunished especially because you dealt a lot of physical damage to the classroom."

"I understand, I'll see you after class then." I said, sulking. Not only will I have to deal with everyone hating me for the rest of the school year, but now I have to get detention with someone who tried to kill me? But...there's no way that he really wanted to...hurt me fatally right? I mean we barely know each other.
