four- narrative
I sit with my legs across Kate's lap in her apartment as I scroll through my Instagram. Kate and I are on the couch, Jada is sprawled out on the floor, Hudson is sitting at the counter working on Political Science notes after acing - hopefully- his test for his summer class earlier this morning, and Gabbie is sitting in the small arm chair holding one of the throw pillows close to her chest as she looks through Hulu to figure out what to watch.
Hudson's phone dings and he quickly stops what he was doing to pick it up and check what the message he just got said. With a small chuckle he puts his phone done and turns to look at us, "So how do you feel about going to a party thrown by a bunch of football players at my frat house tonight?"
"Frat boys? No thank you," Jada says and another TikTok sounds plays on her phone as she scrolls.
Hudson leans over and snatches her phone out of her hands. "You've met them before, Jades. Come on."
Jada grabs her phone back and puts it down on the floor with a sigh, turns her head slightly to look at the Clark boy. "How long would we have to stay?" She asks and I turn to look at Hudson too wanting to know the answer just as bad as Jada; I don't really do too well with big parties like the one he is roping us into.
"Two hours max, we can extend the invite to everyone so you all feel more comfortable." He says with a slight whine to his voice.
I nod. "Text the others and ask," I tell him. He nods now and sends a text to our friend group chat—with me, him, Daisy, Everett, and Benny. So my phone starts blowing up.
After some heavy convincing with Everett everyone agrees to show up for at least two hours. Hudson had to agree to take her to Barnes and Noble and buy her books, but she eventually said yes to the party.
After a little bit, Hudson and I left to go get ready at our apartments. I was met by Daisy and Everett, deciding on what they were going to wear.
"What does one wear to a frat party?" Everett asks as she stands in the hallway holding several hangers and I just smile at her, "you sound just like Jada did before I left..."
Daisy steps into the hallway wearing a white and black tank top, black jeans, a black cardigan, and white converse. "You just never look bad, do you?" Everett asks.
The girl raises her brows. "Be quiet. You two are the most beautiful people I've actually ever seen."
"Wear those ripped jeans and that white top," I say, looking at her clothes.
Daisy, who had gone back into her room to fix her outfit, turned to look at us. "Add the black leather jacket you have!" she calls.
I watch as a wave of calm washes over Everett and she looks at me with a furrowed brow, "Wear the Iowa shirt you stole from Kate but tuck it into your bra so it's cropped then pair it with those light washed baggy jeans you just bought."
"You're the best," I tell her and head into my bedroom. I put on what she told me to wear and check out how it looks in the mirror. I have a smile on my face as I mess with Kate's shirt to make sure it isn't too scandalous and once I am happy with it I slip my feet into my yellow checkered slip on vans and make my way out to the living room to meet up with the girls.
