Chapter 12 (ESCAPE)

The moon hung high in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the landscape. You were running, your breaths coming in short, panicked gasps. The gravel path beneath your feet crunched loudly in the silent night as you darted through the thick forest surrounding Taehyung's mansion.

You glanced over your shoulder, the mansion's dark silhouette looming ominously in the distance. Fear gripped your heart as Taehyung's voice echoed through the trees, a mix of desperation and anger.

"Come back! You can't run from me!" His words sent a shiver down your spine, but you forced yourself to push onward, weaving through the dense foliage.

Branches snagged at your clothes and scratched your skin, but you barely felt the pain. Your mind was focused on one thing: escape. Whatever had driven you to this point, the terror of the moment eclipsed all else.

You stumbled over a root, nearly falling, but managed to catch yourself against a tree trunk. Your body screamed in protest, muscles burning from the exertion, but you couldn't stop. You had to get away.

Taehyung's voice grew louder, closer. "Don't make me do this, please!" His tone held a note of pleading now, but you couldn't afford to let it sway you. There was too much at stake.

You darted forward again, your pace frantic. The trees seemed to close in around you, their shadows twisting and turning in the moonlight. Each step felt like it was taking you deeper into a labyrinth from which there might be no escape.

Suddenly, you burst into a small clearing, the open space feeling both liberating and terrifying. You paused, trying to catch your breath and get your bearings. The forest around you was silent, save for the sound of your own ragged breathing and the distant call of night creatures.

But the silence was shattered by Taehyung's approaching footsteps. You spun around, your heart pounding in your chest. He emerged from the trees, his eyes glowing with a mix of fury and desperation.

"Why are you running from me?" he shouted, his voice raw with emotion. "What are you so afraid of?"

You didn't answer, your chest heaving as you backed away. The look in his eyes was both familiar and foreign, a wild intensity that sent a chill down your spine.

"You don't understand," he said, stepping closer. "I can't let you go. Not like this."

Panic surged through you, and you turned to run again. But before you could take a step, he was there, his supernatural speed closing the distance in an instant. His hands gripped your arms, holding you in place.

"Listen to me," he said, his voice softer now but no less intense. "Whatever it is, we can fix it. Together."

Tears welled in your eyes as you struggled against his hold. "I can't," you whispered, the weight of whatever had happened pressing down on you like a physical force. "I can't stay."

Taehyung's face twisted in anguish, and for a moment, you saw the man you had come to care for, the one who had made you feel safe and cherished. But the moment passed, and his grip tightened.

"You're not leaving me," he said, his tone resolute. "I won't let you."

As you stared into his eyes, the forest around you seemed to close in, the night air thick with tension and unresolved emotions. The future was uncertain, and the path ahead filled with shadows and secrets.
