The day

05:24 pm

Light shimmered through Brianna's eyes as she strained to open them. At first she thought she will find herself laying on the soil or in Mark's van. But what she saw was oddly confusing

"Grandma? You're here?" Brianna recited the moment she saw her old grandma standing in the doorway of her room in Paris.

What? A vision?

"Yes, Bribri. Aren't you happy seeing me?" Her grandma said, smiling peculiarly. Seeing her grandma smiling isn't an everyday show

It's a vision.

"No grandma, I am happy of course. But why are you here?" Brianna shifted her weight onto her feet and stood up. She spoke carefully not to hurt her grandma in a way or another. Though, after what happened in the past two days, Brianna would not care less. But these are visions, and she should live them the way they are. No control whatsoever. Why would Brianna be nice to her grandma?

Brianna involuntarily put her arm behind her back. Mm, I do this when I am lying. Brianna noted.

Brianna knew that, after her father passed away 9 years ago in Paris, her grandma would never go there again. That was what caused Brianna to be speechless on the sight of her grandma on the doorway of her room.

Claudia, Brianna's grandma, hated Paris.

"Why would I go to the place my son's soul was stolen violently and never given back!" She would scream every time Brianna and Mark asked if she can come with them to Paris. Mark kept the reason he and Brianna went to Paris a secret till the day present. Every year, they have to go to Paris two times and stay a week each. Not knowing the reason did not stop Brianna from asking countless of times. In fact, Brianna is a very curious person; not knowing why she does something makes her angry. But about this matter, Brianna stopped asking when she got the same answer every time.

"Mark, why do we have to come here two times a year?"

"You'll understand when you grow up, Brianna,"

"But I am 8 years old, I am old. Mark?"

"No, you are not."

And again,

"Mark, I really don't understand why do we have to come here."

"Everything will be explained later."

"Why not now, Mark? I am 11!"

"You are not old enough, yet. Please don't ask me again. I will tell you when you are ready."

And again,

"Mark, am I ready yet."

"Ready for what?"

"For telling me why I am on this plane right now."

"Then, no"

"But why? What kind of secret are you hiding from me."

"Nothing."

"UGH!"

Brianna tried EVERYTHING. But there was no hope.

"Mark, is 15 years old grown up enough to know why we come to Paris two times a year??"

"No."

So Brianna stopped asking.

She knew, that when she will be "old enough" Mark would tell her. It was to Mark's favor, that Brianna had a reserved personality. She would get angry silently, happy silently and curious silently.
