Maple's scream was caught in her throught. The magic...
But nothing happened.
Vivian shuddered, and she moved a bit on the ground.
When she opened her eyes, they were completely black.
•
Carrie looked around. Her vision was blurry. The tall, dark forms of the trees looked like twigs that enveloped her in a blanket of darkness.
She felt something yank inside her.
"Jackson!" She heard a voice scream.
The spirit's voice.
Carrie felt another tug inside her.
She had to find him.
She got up, letting the Josh take over, and ran away.
She could feel where Jackson was.
Because she was Carrie Joshua.
•
Vivian felt different.
Everything used to be dull, but now it was brighter. It was like she had night vision. Like she held a flashlight that illuminated everything.
She felt powerful.
She could hear whispers inside her, like imaginary friends that had become real. She couldn't make out what they were saying though, oddly enough.
But...
As those things stirred within her, she knew, in a way that no normal human being has ever known before, what she had to do.
She had to find Marietta.
Except...
Who was Marietta?
•
With every breath Macy took, she could feel the slash that was stitched up across her face tightening and realeasing. Every inch of her body held unmeasurable pain.
The worst thing was that it was impossible for her to open her eyes.
