30. THEIR Forever

6 months later,

Ritika stood at the doorstep of their room watching her boys asleep in the mid night. Adithya was sleeping on his father's chest peacefully while Aarush held him securely even in deep sleep after playing for the whole day.

Nandini who came there, smiled seeing Ritika and then at the father-son duo and patted Ritika's back who wiped the traces of happy tears and smiled at her.

"Dekhiye na Maa...Here we are waiting to wish him on his birthday and your son and my son are having their beauty sleep..." Ritika complained with fake anger and Nandini chuckled.

Manik too came at that time to wish his son but seeing the sleeping duo, his heart rewound his own memories of having Aarush in his hands and was filled with nostalgia. His eyes pooled seeing his grown up boy, now having his own son and taking care of him like he did years ago.

Nandini rubbed his arm understanding his feelings and he quickly wiped his tears before giving a smile to the ladies.

Seeing Adithya squirm in sleep, Aarush sleep broke and tried to pat his son to sleep again but the little one whined a little and Ritika was quick to join him and tried to put him back to sleep.

When Adithya felt his mother's warmth, he snuggled into her chest and Ritika understood that he needs his feed and looked at the elder couple who were waiting to wish their son on his birthday.

Following her sight, Aarush looked at his parents and they entered the room and Nandini ruffled his hairs saying "Happy birthday mera bacha..."

"Thank you Mumma..." He chirped remembering his birthday and Nandini said in a whisper "I'll give your dress in the morning..."

Manik kissed his forehead and wished "Many more happy returns of the day Meri Jaan..."

"Thank you Dad..." Aarush smiled and kissed his father's hand who taught everything in his life, including the love that he is showering on his son now.

"And...Here's your gift..." Manik said handing over the property papers registered under Aarush's name.

His eyes widened and Manik said "We shall start building our own hospital soon..."

"Dad...This...This is the best gift of my life..." Aarush said and quickly added "Of course, after my son..." making the other 3 chuckle.

Adithya let out a small cry making them go silent and the elder couple waved bye to them and left the room and Ritika adjusted him in her lap to feed him while Aarush stared at them with love.

"Happy Birthday Senior..." Ritika said while feeding their son and he kissed her forehead and then pecked her lips hard before saying "Thank you Ritu..."

Seeing his son who stopped having his feed and stare at him, Aarush chuckled and kissed his forehead and the little one sucked for milk hungrily again.

That evening,

There's the birthday party of Aarush and the boys are dressed in grey and white tuxedo and were receiving guests.

"Abhayyyyyy" Aarush squealed and hugged him tight as they were meeting almost after 2 years.

Little Adithya too jumped seeing his father's excited face and Abhay cooed him taking him in his arms.

Manik welcomed his friends and their children as they have decided to meet this year. They had a get together when Aarush and Ritika were getting married.

Abhay met everyone and revealed that his job as a surgeon got permanent in London and he will be settling there with his family.

Aarush looked at Manik and he just gave a nod. The party was on full swing and Abhay and Aarush were talking about random topics.
