I now know how it feels if you lose someone, I haven't felt like that before, it is Hard to decide, I guess, but it isn't now. My brother and sister only matter to me.

I wish Mom was just still here and alive. I thought. I didn't know when a tear streamed down my cheeks. I had never cried before, never since I was a kid. You wouldn't believe it even Mom and Dad find me weird and whenever I am bullied in school I never tell Mom because I don't care, I wasn't the crybaby type, which made my mate name me, devil dry eyes.

Even when my dad passed away, I was only slightly shaken. I thought about how difficult life would be without him—his charming smile, his unbeatable tricks, and endless cuddles."I would miss all that, but within a few weeks of his absence, I grew from it.

I aimed to live a carefree life and avoid babysitting my younger siblings, which I disliked and made me feel like an idiot."All I wanted was to live a carefree life, have a great girlfriend (which I did), and pass my grades with flying colors. But now, it has all fallen apart. I can't achieve good grades or live a carefree life.
I'm now responsible for my younger siblings' safety, and I promised my mom I would keep them safe. However, now it feels strange.

" come on, " I said snapping out of my thoughts and running towards mom car parked in the lot. A green Lexus.
I led Roses towards it. Thank goodness the zombies were not yet in this area. I tried the door but it was locked.
" oh shit" I cursed as looked around as the chaos grew more tougher as different zombies crowded the street.
I tried the window forgotten it was a bulletproof glass.
" Jay, what are you looking for ?" Roses asked, her eyes filled with concern.
"Mom key you got it? " She nodded her head. " no but I think she left it in her bag"
Her handbag. I remember seeing it on the bench where I had sat down. And it was in the middle of the park.
I turn to face Roses. " can you be okay till I am back?"
Rose's blue eyes looked at me fearfully.
" I promise I would be back quickly just trust me," I said. I also felt weird leaving the two of them in the middle of zombies, but luckily they were still after some survivors so before they got here I would have been back with the key. I hid Roses and Stephen beside the car, another car surrounded us. I opened a nearby fuel tank thankfully the tank was full of petrol so it spilled out and poured freely on the ground.
The zombies only smell their predator with the blood but now they would only smell fuel which would displease them and turn them away.
I closed the tank and turned to my siblings. " come on just stay here quietly and we are good, I will be back soon"
Roses nodded. She acted brave but I know she is just making things up. Stephen only looked at me with his small Iris. I make my way out of the parking lot and into the park ground. It was still messy. There are many  Zombies in this area. A new army of zombies walked around the area searching for a meal.

My body was still smelling of petrol so I silently dodged behind them careful not to trip on something so as not to drag the attention of the dead human.
Finally, I made it to the seat and I saw mom handbag seated on the bench untouched.

Without thinking I grabbed the handle and drew it towards me, rummaging through it until I was touching something metal and plastic in between.
The key. I took it out. It was our flat car key joined with the car key. "Good," I said. A woman zombie walked past me, sniffing in the air like an animal. I stood motionless for her to pass before I resumed my walk. But instead of her going she stopped in my front and looked in my direction. Like she noticed me.

I used my hand to run my hoodie the petrol had dried
So my human fresh blood took over exposing me to danger. The zombie turned her attention to me and started moving like a robot toward me. Luckily she is slow, unlike the man who attacked me earlier. Her limb moves shakily towards me. I looked around and found a small bat lying on the ground, I grabbed it and maintained my posture.
Maybe she would just move past.
