I didn't expect this, amidst the tons of surrounding zombies, there were two young boys and girls the same age as me lying at the crest of the abandon jeep.
Their scent made me want to go crazy like I longed for their blood.
They are humans. I thought.
What are humans doing here?
Big Bob had told me that only zombie nightstalkers could find this place. And I find it odd.
" Control yourself," Big Bob said behind me as he caught up. I looked at him. " I am trying"
" You have to try, it ain't your brother or someone you're expecting right?." Bob said.
" Yeah"
Bob patted me. " Don't worry they might led us to them"
I looked at him.. " what do you mean?"
" They are Vance spies I guess, but it's strange how they got here fast. Nobody knows about the underground tunnel in the supermarket and the way here only Vance knew this"
" But you said it gonna take a whole month to reach the stronghold," I said.
" Yeah, but I think they find an easy way to reach there in a week, "
" What?"
The boy glanced up and looked at me dead in the eye. " You Jayden right?"
How did he know my name?
I nodded.
"How do you get here?" Bob steps out and asks them.
" We can't talk," the girl said for the first time. " We can't talk "
Bob's eyes flickered again this time dangerously. " Then do you wish to be eaten by a nightstalker,?"
" I..." The boy tries to speak but the girl hits him in the ribs which makes him groan.
" Do you think you would be safe if you didn't tell us, Vance will all turn you into zombies. "
The girl made a shocking stare. " How do you ...?"
" I know he is the one. Vance right?"
" He told us not to tell you..."
"It's okay, you should tell us everything you know please," I said and moved up to them. " You are safe here"
"And what about my family? " the girl yelled. " I can't risk their life because of my selfish desire "
" We are going to rescue them" Bob interrupted. " Don't worry they are going to be save "
" We have been following Jayden since he left the stronghold to the supermarket " the girl began. "We had hidden at the back of the boot only not to be noticed by him and when he entered the supermarket we followed him "
" But the car drove off away into the distance "
" The driver dropped us off when we were in the distance and we had to run. Back to the supermarket and wait until you entered"
"Wait, did you see any zombies when you were all hiding?"
" No, it was Vance who brought them. He had also followed you there, he knew you would come here so he lied to you about the foodstuffs in the supermarket and all that, he knew the Nightstalker hideout still existed and he needed to know where it was so he asked us to follow you"
"Which part did you take the tunnel in the supermarket or?.." Bob asked.
" No Vance told us of another way to reach the camp early," the boy said.
" And where is that?"

" We can't trust them" a lady Nightstalker speak up.
Bob placed his hand on his chin. He nods from time to time. Of course, it will be a tough decision to think about, they can't risk the Nightstalker's life and it may be part of Vance's plan to get rid of the Nightstalker with humanity. Maybe they are walking right into his trap.
I stood up. " I think I can go alone "
The eyes of multiple nightstalkers fell on me.
" What do you mean Jay? Come on sit down," Bob said.
" I think I can Bob, it would be a huge risk for the survival at the stronghold if no action is taken, you know we have got to stop Vance "
" I think the boy has a point " a woman spoke up, and I recognized her to be the woman that had served me the sandwich.
"What you saying Mary " Bob angrily spat at the lady. " We can't risk his life also, he can't go alone on the road it gonna be dangerous"
"That's it, if only I can go with them" I pointed to the boy and girl who were eating angrily on the table at the end of the room. " Then It gonna be saved, they may know some cut "
" Good kid, great thinking," Mary said smiling, Bob shot her a dead look.
" Bob you have tried for us, you are a true leader but for this one time can you trust any of our decisions, the kid has some point, the lighter they go the easier we can unleash our plan. They would go first and we would follow closely behind" an old man says, Bob looked at him for some time. "Okay," he said at last. "But he can't go alone with them; he needs someone to go with him."
