he shuts the door and turns back to me as i quickly stand up and grab my bag.

"i-i'm sorry. i'll go." i say, heading towards the door and opening it.

as i go to exit, i feel a hand on my wrist turning me around. the next thing i feel is a hand in my neck, and lips on mine. i immediately kiss him back, shutting the door behind me and placing my hand in his neck, dropping my bag.

"unfortunate timing wouldn't you say?" he says, once we break apart.

"y-yeah." i stutter, as george kneels down and hands me my bag from the floor as i thank him.

"so, i'll see you out on the grid?" he says, opening the door and winking.

"you will.. see me on the grid yes." i say, before walking out of his driver room smiling, and also blushing.

20 minutes later, i was walking towards george's car in p3. but i get stopped by mercedes mechanics.

"im sorry, only workers." they say.

i was about to walk away after apologising to the mechanic, when i spot george finally walking over.

"boys, why is she leaving?" he says, hands on his hips.

"she's not part of the team george." he says.

"no, but this is alexandra martinez. the one i told you to send to me?" he says.

"apologies." they say, before letting me through.

"don't apologise to me, apologise to her." he says, and they apologise before me and george walk away.

"sorry about that." he says, laughing slightly.

"it's okay, don't worry about it." i say, smiling back.

"i'm kind of nervous for the race." he says, whilst sipping from his bottle.

"why?" i ask.

"because i don't want to mess this up, i can get big points for the team here. i mean, they are relying on me to get this podium. it's a lot of pressure."

"i can't even imagine, but the most important thing is that you finish the race safely." i say.

"you mean the car finishes safely." he says.

"no i don't mean the car george! i mean you. and you know that if this life you have ever gets too much you can talk to me."

"what if i just want to talk to you?"

"then im here to talk, about whatever and whenever."

"even the middle of the night?" he says, a smile appearing on his face.

"if i am awake, yes. but you better not wake me up." i joke.

"i'll make a note of it. one minute, martin (brundle) is coming over. he probably wants to talk to me." george says, and he was indeed right.

but martin also began to talk to me once george had been stolen by toto wolff (he still scares me)

"so, alexandra martinez. your are a common find in an f1 paddock aren't you." he says.

"yes, of course! i love formula one, it's amazing. and i have to support george of course." i say.

"and george is your friend right?"

"he's my neighbour." i correct.

"well, hope you enjoy the race."

"thank you, i will definitely." i say, smiling as he walks away.

finally, george walks back over to me, placing his arm over my shoulders and scaring me.

"george!" i say, gently hitting him.

"i didn't mean to scare you." he says.

"because putting your arm on someone suddenly isn't scary?"

"sorry, i was just saying that i have to go for the national anthem now."

"okay, well i can wait here for you?"

"yeah, ill be 5 minutes." he says, before heading to the front of the grid.

i walk to the side of his car, and wait against the side of the track. i could hear the national anthem start a few minutes later, so i knew he would be back soon.

3 minutes later i spot him walking up the grid with lando, before parting and george heading straight to me.

"hey." i say, smiling at him.

"hi, your sure your watching from the garage?" he says, smiling back.

"yes russell, don't you trust me?" i say, laughing a little.

"yeah, i do."

"i should go though, people are starting to leave."

"to the mercedes garage? my side?"

"yes george!"  i say. why is he so set on me watching from his side?

"and you will see me after the race?" he says, hope in his eyes.

"of course george, now i really need to go."

"okay, i'll see you after the race martínez." he says, winking as i walk away.

i head to the mercedes garage, and stand on george's side with a clear view of the screen. a few minutes later the cars begin the formation lap.

finally, all the cars line up on the grid once again, waiting for the five lights. i couldn't help but find myself crossing my fingers, hoping the best outcome for george. during these past few days, things have really changed between us, i don't know what it is, but i definitely like it.

"it's lights out and away we go for the monaco grand prix! max verstappen gets away well, russell good too, lando not so well and loses his position to the mercedes behind."

people start to clap george's gain of position, as lewis also overtakes into p6. a minute or so later, there is a yellow flag followed by red flag.

checo perez and the two redbull crashed, but thank god they were okay. it was a bad crash, the red bull car completely wrecked.

all the cars begin to return to the garages, and i wait where i was stood, knowing george would come and find me.
