"Michael?" Why are you here? How did you even get in here?" Mina replied, attempting to lean her upper body up before the heaviness of the liquor pushed her back down. "You gave me a spare key when you came to visit me on tour, remember?" He smiled before sitting his body next to her feet before finishing his thought. "I promise I'm not crazy but I needed to see you. I don't want to be away from you anymore Mina. I'm willing to wait for you to accept my sorry but I don't know how much longer I can take sharing you with another man." Mina tured her body to the side reaching for the pillow beside her to cover her head. "Michael I'm too drunk for this and quite frankly you're a little too late. Months late."
"Mina, just listen to me, what you seen it's not what you think. I want us to talk more when you sober up.
"I don't want your pieces Michael, I don't want to talk about anything involving the past.
"But Mina.."
"Just get out Michael and leave the spare key on the table".
He took a long glance at her frame before turning away towards the door. Reaching for the polaroid picture of the two of them covered in sand embraced by the form of one another. It was when they visited Seychelles, their first time away. They had gone skinny dipping shortly after taking the photo. It was one of Michael's favorite memories of them.
The Sunday early morning was nerve wracking, Mina had a massive hangover and decided to take a nice hot shower to clear her mind and freshen up her body. Soon after she entered the shower Alonso turned his key into the door reaching for his suitcase he left the night before while going over business plans. When he reached for his item, the polaroid picture fell over sliding under his feet. He heard a light crackle as he pushed his next steps, looking down he lifted his feet picking up the picture that stuck to the outlining of his shoe. When he picked up the picture he focused his eyes on Mina and Michael. Infuriated at the happiness that belted out of photographed memory.
Mina wrapped in her towel, met Alonso infuriated look. Stuck in her place as she saw him hold on to the treasured moment that Michael left. "I can explain, baby..I.we.." Her words spaced out in fear of him not understanding her. "Did you sleep with him...?" He threw a tight glance at her before throwing the picture at her. "No, How could you ask me that? He just came to talk. He barely said anything before I asked him to leave. He still had a spare key." Turning his direction away from her he threw his hand up when she tried to follow him. Transitioning his body on the other end of the door Mina rested her hand on her head in worry.
_______________
"Brielle, what do I do?" Mina called her close friend explaining all to her.
"You know I never really liked him no way."
"Bri, don't start. I need your help".
"Just let him be Mimi, he just feels threatened he'll probably get out of his head eventually. I'm still team Michael by the way. So I don't think I can offer much help. Remember he randomly left you, moved across the world then pretended like you and him never happened. Michael would never do that to you.
"Bri, Michael kissed that woman on stage. Damn near had her tongue in his mouth. I'm cringing just thinking about it to top it off all those extra moves he was doing with her. All the shit he does with me. I should've went off on his ass. Plus I can't help but think about the things that might have happened before I went on tour with him." Her long rant was interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Not being aware of any company she was hesitant to answer until she heard two voices say her name.
"Mina, open up it's Randy and Marlon".
As she walked to open the door Randy's persistent bangs became more obnoxious.
"Relax Randy before you get the police called on us." Marlon insisted while throwing a hit at the back of his brother's head.
Once she opened the door she was greeted with wide smiles from both brothers. " We brought popcorn on Michael's behalf". Randy threw a piece of popcorn at her forehead as he entered the home.
"Will you ever grow up Randy?" Mina already knew the answer to her question before laughing and closing the door behind them. He stuffed a mouth full of popcorn in reply before mimicking an offer of his bag. Marlon and Mina shared glances at each other while Randy mouthed obnoxious noises as he chowed down on his buttery snack.
"Joseph always said he was a bad seed. I'm starting to believe it more each day". Marlon said before stretching his mouth into a smile and then pulling Mina into a welcoming hug. Randy paced himself to tend to the words he wanted to speak. "I can't believe Michael got his girl taken." He laughed hysterically before he was paused by Marlon's rebuttal.
"You're laughing now but it wasn't so funny when you found out Michael was consoling Alejandra. Holding her tight in his arms because you were being a deadbeat. You almost got your girl taken too, but jermaine beat him to it." Randy sat down on Mina's couch stuffing the last bit of popcorn in his mouth. He pointed at Marlon signaling that he was going to get him back later on.
"Anyways Mina, we came to check in on you since we were in the area. I think it's time to go though, before me and Randy get into it. You know I can't take being around him alone too long." Marlon rubbed Mina's shoulder gently before placing a kiss goodbye on her cheek.
"Y'all are a damn mess but thank you for stopping by Marlon it means a lot to me. We'll always have a bond together even if me and Michael are over. I love y'all. Plus you were always my favorite brother after Michael of course". She rested her hand around his shoulder as she walked them out the door.
"Girl, stop playing and call my brother back." Mina chuckled a throaty laugh sending them off with a warm grace before she closed the door.
