Chapter XXV: 🍂

"What can you tell me about this relationship?"

Ayrie coughs, hands bound behind his back, a battered chair creaking beneath him, next to it, two tall, massive-looking men, in both height and bulk.
Their sheer size dwarfing Ayrie to a mere shadow.
These men, with their imposing presence, are more than muscle; they carry evil spirits that twist their auras into something almost palpable.

"You must be joking, I hope!"
Ayrie rants, his voice tinged with desperation.
He cannot fathom the logic behind this interrogation, nor the reason for his abduction in broad daylight during his mundane errands.

And what did this man want from Adrian?

Ever since Ayrie heard of Adrian's sudden partnership, his nerves have been on edge.
There was no reason, no explanation for Adrian's decision to forge an alliance without consulting him, his closest confidant and number one business partner.
The choice to collaborate with this shadowy, untrustworthy figure baffled him.

What the hell was Adrian thinking, casting him aside for this ravenous beast, hungry for fame, money, and power?

"Do I look like I'm joking?"
Ma Joo Seok's voice cuts through Ayrie's thoughts like a blade.

The man stands with arms crossed, his gaze unwavering, a picture of steely resolve. He exudes a cold, calculated neutrality that chills Ayrie to the core.

"I just want to know how a being containing six evil spirits can feel even an ounce of compassion for one of his opposites,"
Ma Joo Seok speaks in a low, menacing tone. "How is that possible? When So Mun, with his benevolent spirits, could annihilate him at any moment?"

Ayrie lowers his eyes to the cold, grey concrete floor of the abandoned garage, his thoughts racing.
The white walls, lined with various tools, cast a sterile, threatenin glow.

The air is thick with tension as Ma Joo Seok chuckles, his eyes glinting with malicious amusement.

"Ayrie, you should know better than anyone that Adrian would prefer death to the idea of being without his powers."
His deliberate approach sends a shiver down Ayrie's spine, despite his best efforts to remain composed.

He knows Ma Joo Seok speaks the truth.

Adrian hates weakness with a burning intensity.

Their time in prison had drilled this into Ayrie's understanding: Adrian would never revert to the powerless state he once endured. To him, power is life itself, and losing it is a fate worse than death.

Ayrie's mind races, his pulse quickening. "Adrian has his reasons ," he finally mutters, eyes still fixed on the floor. "But he might change his mind."

Joo Seok's chuckle grows louder, more sinister.
