2 years after Magcon
I wake up to Matt's arms wrapped around me. I yawn and roll over, meeting his eyes with mine. "Morning sleepy." I whisper. He smiles and jumps up. "Gotta go." I sigh on our anniversary? We've been dating for 3 years and he runs out on me? I nod and he kisses my cheek, dangling his keys on his finger.
Several hours later Matt barges in through the door and slams it behind him. Tears streak his face as he holds a large paper bag and his phone. He drops to his knees. "Magcon is over." I shake my head in confusion. "We broke up today." I run over to him and hold his head in my lap. I'm sorry Matt, I'm so so so sorry." He fake smiles and nods to the bag, "Happy 3rd anniversary." I kiss him. "That's not important right now." He shakes his head, "no, no, it is. I won't think about anything else except us, wanna go out to lunch?" I sigh, "if you're gonna alright." He nods and hands me a bouquet of daisys. "I love you." He cups his hands on my chin and kisses me.
I dress nicely because Matt said that we were going to a fancy restraunt. I come out and Matt's dressed in a nice tuxedo and his jaw drops. "You look better than me." He jokes. I smile and stare to the ground. He takes my arm, "ready?" I nod and walk out with him. I notice a bulg in his back pocket, "hey, Matt, whats in your pocket?" He looks surprised and grabs the outline of it. "Oh, nothing, nothing." He takes me out to a limousine and opens the door for me, "Ladies first." I laugh and hop in. Matt holds my hand and brushes hair from my face, staring at me intently. "Is something on my face?" I giggle. He smiles and shakes his head, "never." He leans in and kisses me. It's so satisfying I reach in for more. Our heads are bobbing around and we're kissing with passion. I'm breathing heavily now and I move in for one last kiss as the limo pulls to a stop. Matt laughs and straightens his tuxedo as we head into the restraunt.
Matt and I have a wonderful dinner and I was careful not to mention Magcon. He leans over the table and grabs my hand. "Bill?" Asks the waiter, Matt shakes his head and winks. The waiter nods as if understanding exactly what Matt meant. Several minutes later the waiter carries a slice of chocolate cake garnished with strawberries. Matt and I devor it and as I go to stand up to leave Matt says, "Sit down. Just one minute." I nod and sit down. I turn my head to look around and next thing I know Matt is standing out of his chair. He looks nervous and he straightens his tux out a little. He looks at me nervously and intently, now everyone is watching. As he looks gently in my eyes he kneels down onto one knee. He pulls the small box from his back pocket, its covered in blue velvet and he opens it carefully revealing a large diamond ring laying in white silk. I gaze in awe as Matt grabs my hand. "Ever since the day I met you, I knew you were the one. I've had this ring for a year now, and I just worked up the confidence to ask you. I can't tell you how much better you've made my life. In fact, you probably don't even know. God, you are just beautiful Samantha. I couldn't ask for anyone better. I need you in my life. So, Samantha will you marry me?" Tears are streaming down my face. I jump up and kiss Matt, I'm screaming as I nod and exclaim, "Yes!" Matt smiles and relief comes across his face as he pushes the ring onto my finger. People clap and applaud but it feels like its just Matt and I. "I'm ready to be Mrs. Espinosa." I grab his jaw and pull him in for a kiss. Mrs. Samantha Espinosa. I like that a lot.
