Rishi's Past

Mayank was pacing wildly outside Rah's room while the doctors were treating him.

On other hand , Warren too was tensed and was worriedly glancing in the room where Rishi was admitted. Our hardworking and efficient doctors 'Abhiyank ' were trying hard to treat Rishi and Rah.

Virat was observing both Mayank and Warren fretting over Rah and Rishi , he approached them and placed a comforting hand on both of their shoulders.

" Relax , everything would be alright. Sit here for a while , I will bring the medicines. And ....be mature....don't start a fight. Am I clear ? " Virat sternly added the last line , expecting good behavior from them.

Mayank and Warren both nodded in affirmation. Virat trusted them and walked away to buy the medicines prescribed by the doctors.

There was a tense but silent atmosphere looming over , neither of them spoke for a while but soon the atmosphere got more and more awkward.

Warren initiated , " We can trust these doctors right ?" Warren's tone held a hint of worry.

Mayank got annoyed for Warren's lack of trust over his friends capability but he later understood his concern. He simply wished for Rishi's well being but the question was still lingering in his mind , ' What is his relation with Rishi and why does he care so much about him ? '

Mayu hesitated initially,  but he couldn't hold it any longer , so he asked,  " Who is....umm...Rishi to you , Warren ? "

Warren stiffened at his question, his jaw tensed , he threw daggers towards Mayank and growled , " None of your business. "

Mayank got agitated at Warren's attitude but calmed his nerves and softly asked  again , " Virat told us to be mature so can you do your part and be nice for once ! "

Warren was still tense but he exhaled lightly and looked toward Mayank again , but this time , his gaze held warmth , " Well , I know him since childhood...."

" Thats good for starters..." Mayank smiled.

Warren too surprisingly chuckled and replied , " After my mother's demise and abandonment of my very own father , I had no choice but to knock the doors of an orphanage. Well...Rishi is an orphan too and Natasha's parents adopted him. But before being adopted , we both seeked shelter under the same orphanage. "

Warren exhaled harshly and paused for a while. Mayank could clearly see that his past was tormenting him till today.

Mayank pitied and felt sorry for Rishi and Warren's harsh childhood. Mayank gave a side hug as a comforting gesture , Warren didn't say anything but Mayank knew Warren appreciated his gesture.

" We connected instantly, he was the only one who understood my pain and always stood by me. In my highs and lows , it was him who always held my hand , and walked besides me. He gave me the courage to brave every odds in my life with a smile.

But....soon Rishi's friendship turned into love for me and I could never return his feelings for me and it disheartened him to a great extent. "

Mayank felt crushed , knowing very well how hurt Rishi must be after facing the rejection.

It takes a great will power to identify ourself and come out as gay and then being rejected by our crush  , it's enough to break an adult and Rishi was just an innocent child.

Mayank sympathized, ' Maybe Rishi ain't too bad....he is just misunderstood.'

However Mayu kept his thoughts to himself , and didn't voice them out loud.

" I was the biggest homophobic back then because I hate my ' sorry excuse of father ' to cheat with my mom with another man ! And my dearest friend , he too turns out to be gay ! It shocked me to core and...." Warren halted , a bit guilt striken but bravely uttered the next words ,

" I broke...all my connections with Rishi and berated him. I still can't get over his face , it looked so....heartbroken. And it was me , who hurt him ! That day was the most saddest day for me ....

I left the orphanage and luckily my uncle adopted me. However,  I never made an effort to stay in touch with Rishi and it angers me every day ! But today when I saw him fallen to the ground , again hurt by me...it broke my heart to pieces ....I can't lose him again."

Warren was weeping silently. Mayank felt terrible seeing Warren in such a miserable state but at the very moment Virat returned , he looked confused but ignored it for a while and politely informed , " Both Rah and Rishi are out of danger...they will soon be conscious. So wipe out the frown and smile , guys!"

Mayank grinned and gave Virat a tight hug , " Thank you bhaiya ! It's the best news I have heard so far ! "

Virat ruffled Mayank's hair and gave him a kind smile.

Warren excused himself and went to the washroom , all the while holding his head down.

" Did something bother him ? " Virat enquired. Mayu shook his head , respecting Warren and even Rishi's privacy and decided to not reveal anything yet.

After an hour,  doctor informed them that Rah is conscious , Mayank hopped like a kid and went inside to meet Rah.

However his steps faltered when he saw Rah's pale face and IV hooked up in his arm , but still Rah smiled at him.

Mayu quickly hovered over Rah , gently took his hand and placed a wet smooch on his hand and began caressing Rah's hair. Rah melted and purred at Mayu's pampering.

Virat stood at a distance , and lovingly adored the cute couple. He immediately messaged in the ICT group , informing about Rah's and Rishi's health , he knows everyone must be worried sick.

Virat saw Warren taking a seat outside Rishi's room , however he observed a skull tattoo on Warren's wrist.

The skull tattoo was similiar to the one he had seen on the goon. And Rishi knew about this skull tattoo but how?

Virat's curiosity got the best of him , he quietly sneaked into Rishi's room and carefully observed Rishi's wrist and he was surprised to see the very same skull tattoo !

' Wait....is Rishi too from Warren's gang ? Is he a threat too ? ' Virat shockingly thought. 

He broke from his train of thoughts when he saw Rishi slowly gaining consciousness, he rushed outside and called Warren inside.

Warren swiftly entered the room and sat beside Rishi and took his hand gently ,

" Idiot ! Do you think you are hero ! Stupid fella...you-" Warren stopped in the middle , maybe he realized that Virat was still in the same room.

Virat took the cue and excused himself and sat outside, giving space to both Mayu and Warren.

But he was feeling lonely , so he called his Panda and began talking to him and smiling idiotically the entire time. As usual they were bantering and blaming each other and ending their fight by calling each other cute and cheesy nicknames.

" Aishhh, I am so tired right now ! "  Dr Mayank complained.

Abhishek lovingly gazed at Mayank , he slided closer to Mayank , intertwined their pinkies together and said , " Why don't we go out for dinner....together ? "

Mayank blushed and nodded his head slowly , " Only if we split the bill. "

Abhishek laughed but nevertheless agreed if Mayank was joining him for dinner. " So let's freshen up and leave ?"

Abhishek began getting up , quite in a hurry to leave and have Mayank all to himself but he would be damned than confessing it aloud.

But maybe Mayank understood him well enough , because he grabbed Abhi's hand , " Let's go , Abhi...I can't wait...I mean - ummm I am very hungry...."

Abhi chuckled and held Mayank's hand tighter and pulling him slightly closer.
