Dinner with dad

"Yes we will talk but before that we would be having dinner , chalo everyone wash your hands and be seated. " Rah's mother kindly suggested.

Rah's father was about to intervene but Auntie's eyes pleaded sincerely and Uncle's demaneour changed , he nodded slowly and walked away.

Rah smiled at his mom , thanking her silently and she returned his gratitude with ever so sweet smile.

All sat at the dining table , prayed to the God for good food and began digging in , oh it was so delicious ! Mayank praised Auntie , " It's so tasty ! Ghar ke khane ki yaad aa gayi ! superb...."

Auntie blushed and replied , " Thank you beta ! Rah told me you love kofta so I made it...I hope you must have liked it."

Mayank eyes widened and felt immensely grateful for her gesture,  it was a small step towards acceptance. He grinned broadly and replied , " It's the tastiest ! "

The sweet moment was interrupted with a loud cough from Uncle, 
" Don't speak while eating. "

Rah was eating calmly without uttering a word , he didn't want to disappoint his father anymore , infact he doesn't even know how should he begin a conversation with him , soon he heard his father coughing loudly , he instantly went to grab a glass of water but before he could spring to action , Mayu was already patting his Dad's back and offering him a glass of water.

Rah relaxed a bit when he saw his father accepting the glass of water and politely thanking Mayu , " Thank you. "
Mayank smiled and muttered a welcome ,
" Iam already feeling at home ! "

" But this is not your home. " Rah's dad growled . He picked up his plate and went inside the kitchen, Mayank watched Uncle walk away and he immediately deflated and returned back to his place.

Rah squeezed his hand under the table assuring him , it will all be ok soon ....

Everyone sat together after dinner in the living room,  Rah's dad sat on the couch , fuming and glaring towards Rah and Mayank, " So Mayank , how many days you are staying here ? " he asked , seething with anger.

Mayank looked confused,
" I can't understand , sir. "

" How many days longer are you going to badly influence , my son ? Just stay away from him , mind your own business. After you are away and no longer controlling my son , he will return back to being his old self. " Rah's dad said in a accusatory tone.

Rah was disgusted with his dad's thoughts , he was worried Mayu would be hurt but he was shocked to see Mayu calm , he smiled at his Dad and replied , " Your son is old enough to not be easily be influenced by anyone. It was his decision to fall in love with me and spend his rest of his life with me , and as his Father you should respect his decision. "

" But if my son strays to a wrong path , it is my right to correct him. " Rah's father sad defensively.

" What is wrong with our love , sir ? Can you elaborate , please ? " Mayank calmly questioned.

Rah was surprised seeing Mayank in such a calm demeanor tackling his dad's questions and blames , handling situation very maturely.

' Truly , I fell in love with him again. He is hurt by my dad's accusations but he is still speaking respectfully and isn't crossing his limit. ' Rah thought, admiring his Mayu.

" God created men and women , men and women are supposed to love each other and reproduce an offspring and nurture him/her and teach him manners and help him grow into a good human being.
Men should love women and women should love men , isn't that what we have been doing for ages ! Who are you all to change it ! " Rah's dad spoke loudly , Rah's mother closed her ears and winced at such a deafening tone.

Rah's father saw it and apologized to her and held her hand lovingly , eventhough he was upset , he spoke in a very low and calm tone with her.

Mayhul smiled at Uncle's gesture towards Auntie and adored the couple.

Mayank went near Auntie and spoke with a smile , " Auntie, why do you love Uncle so much? "

Auntie looked up , blushed and replied , " He is very kind and caring, always helps me in my household chores , motivates me to try different activities and indulge myself .

Takes me on trips and vacations , feeds me when I'm ill , stays by my side and sings for me so I could sleep easily. He is short tempered but loves his son a lot , always worries about his future and wants best for him. He is a very good partner and I want to spend an eternity with him. " she lovingly expressed her love.

" Thats my point , sir. A good partner is never categorized by his gender but rather by his actions. Auntie never once mentioned that she loves you because you are a man but rather because you are a good person and takes care of his family really well.

I too love Rah for being a gentleman and always looking out for me . I saw his personality, his good nature,  his actions that spoke louder than his words could express how much he loves me.

Love goes beyond nature . You love someone when you feel safe around the other person , I feel protected around Rah , I know Rah would shield me from troubles and also help me to fight my problems.
Do you still think , our love is wrong ? "

Mayank spoke , meeting Uncle eye to eye and stood bravely.

He could sense Uncle's demaneour changed , he was no more angry but rather digesting every word and trying to understand but still couldn't come to terms and harshly replied , " But it is a sin , a disgrace ! "

Mayank steps faltered, he slumped his shoulders in defeat however Rah stepped forward and sternly spoke ,
" It's not a sin! I am not a sin ! "

Rah's father gasped at Rah's outburst , Rah's mother stepped forward and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and muttered , " Rah , beta he is your father. Don't speak with him in this tone. "

Rah flared his nostrils angrily , trying to calm himself down , " He is not my father , he is a man who considers his own son a sin !

He isn't the same man who would cuddle me when I had nightmares, he is not the man who taught me how to ride a bike , he is not the man who stayed awake the whole night to complete my project , he is not the same man who whisteled loudly for my first century , he is not the man who made funny faces to make me laugh when I used to cry , he isn't the same man !!!! "

" Rah-" His dad spoke in a broken voice , but Rah interrupted him , " No , don't speak with me , I don't know you...return my old dad back to me ! Who don't consider me a sin...."

Rah broke down in his mother's arms , sobbing loudly , his mother caressed him and comforted him.

Rah's dad looked in a dilemma , between a man who was scared of what would the society think about his family and a father who cared too much about his son but today the father won , yesss...he can't see his son in pain anymore , he can't shun him anymore.

He rushed and hugged his son tighter , apologized , " Sorry beta, You are not a sin ...you are my blessing. "

Rah sobbed and hugged his dad , forgiving him , " I love you Dad , thank you for accepting me. "

Mayank watched the whole scenario with tears brimming in his eyes , Rah's dad looked towards Mayank and smiled at him , and widened his arms and gestured him to join them , " Come beta...you are a part of our family now."

Mayank was overwhelmed,  he ran and crushed all of them into a bone breaking hug conveying his gratitude ,  " Thank you sir. "

Rah's dad caressed Mayu's hair and patted his cheek , " Not sir...pappa will do. "

All of them chuckled and smiled broadly , Rah's mother announced with a smile ,
" Ab shaadi ki tayari shuru kare ? "

A/n : I know I was very late to update but I am so busy with my admission processes and other business too.
Today I had some spare time , so I wrote this beautiful chapter for you all !
