➛❝ OI, PURPLE FREAK. JOIN MY TEAM. ❞ the [h/c] haired girl heard a nickname she knew all too well. a nickname created in courtesy of one explosive blonde. she turned to him, who was standing a few meters before her, his hands in his pockets and his head tilted back, as if looking down on her.
everyone had teamed up with the others, avoiding the one with ten million points in hopes of overthrowing him. a huge flock of people came to todoroki and bakugou, who were known to be at the top of the hero course, hoping to team up with either of them. however, the two had already made up their minds, with todoroki recruiting a team of his own and bakugou standing in front of [y/n], waiting for her response.
"only if you say please." she said, irking the male. "the fuck?! i ain't saying that!" he said, the audacity of this girl to make him say something so polite, as if it was the bane of his existence. "ya know what, fuck you!" he walked away, only to be stopped by the girl who held onto his shoulder.
"come on. it won't kill you, you know." she said, her tone filled with seriousness. however, her eyes had a glint of playfulness in them, making bakugou scowl. "don't fuck with me, freak. you're in my team even if you say no." he shoved the girl's hand off and walked away, making her sigh at him.
eventually, she walked behind him, watching him get flocked again while his expression changed to annoyance. kirishima had approached the boy too, wanting to be a part of his team and even explaining why. that somehow got bakugou riled up, eventually accepting him to the team.
and now, there were three, waiting for one more to join the team. kirishima had somehow struck up a conversation with the girl, with the latter wondering how'd it come to this. as the two of them followed the explosive blonde, he was faced with one of their classmates, hanta sero, who wanted to be a part of their team.
bakugou thought about it and eventually agreed. now with his team full, all that was left was to strategize.

with bakugou as the rider, [y/n] the right rearguard, sero at the left, and kirishima at the front, they were getting ready for the battle to start. the explosive blonde cracked his knuckles, all while saying to aim for the ten million points. the girl of the team could only sigh at him. despite her efforts in explaining that it was best to use the other teams' distraction on the ten million as a means of stealing some from them, bakugou was steadfast in taking the ten million points first.
whipping her whip, midnight gave them the signal. as soon as she did so, everyone was running towards the ten million points, using whatever means necessary to do so.
midoriya's team was trying their best to evade from the attacks directed towards them. with the help of the pink-haired girl's support items, they were able to get out of the predicament by flying through the air. tokoyami's all-rounder defense was giving them their all-needed boost to win. as soon as they made sure it was safe, they landed to the ground, running back again.
[y/n] could hear bakugou tsk in annoyance, unable to get the ten million points he oh so desired. so he decided to fly off of their cavalry team, making kirishima call him out. the girl only sighed in disappointment. of course he was going to act selfish, this was bakugou for fucks sake.
he flew into the air with the help of his explosions, catching up to his ex-childhood friend. as he flew face-to-face with him, he tried to grab the ten million off of midoriya's forehead, but was quickly evaded with the help of tokoyami's defense.
the girl in bakugou's team could only watch the scene above with furrowed brows. the blonde male was so hellbent in taking the ten million that he didn't take others into account. that was when he started to fall. thankfully, sero's tape was able to wrap onto him before he could hit the ground, the two of his other teammates catching him as well.
"you're really an idiot, you know." [y/n] said at the male, making him scoff at her. "no one asked for your opinion, bitch!" he yelled, getting back into the top as the rider.
as much as everyone was pumped up, [y/n] couldn't help but feel uneasy. she definitely felt that something was off, and her concerns were easily identified when their rankings were shown. 'how the hell did we get seventh place?'
that was when another team had ran past them, grabbing the headband off bakugou's forehead as their rider taunted them. "give it back or i'll kill you!!!" the angry blonde shouted, his expression turning from anger to full-on rage.
the other blonde kept taunting him though, telling him that despite being behind in the first game, they were cautiously observing their future opponents. "there's no point in winning on only one race, right?"
"you did it as a class?"
"not everyone agreed though, but it's still a good strategy." the unknown blonde said, tying their stolen band on his neck. "it's better than a horse with a carrot in front of his face, taking a temporary spot on the top." this aggravated the spiky haired male to no bounds, and even mentioning his past incident too. fury radiated off of his person, calling out to kirishima that there's been a change of plans.
"before deku, we're going to kill all of these guys!"

in the end, bakugou was able to rise up back to the top at a shocking second place. after getting their bands back from the class b student, they immediately turned their attention back to midoriya, who was in a close battle with todoroki. unfortunately, with how little time there was left, bakugou could only place himself at second, with the half-ice half-fire user keep his place up at first.
second place was cool and all, but to him, it was still not enough. first place was what he wanted and to bakugou, giving up was never an option.
