I lazily sat on the couch opposite Uncle Fred, my mom's older brother, and Attorney Pachanon, our family's lawyer. Uncle Fred has been my guardian until I turned twenty-one. He is the only family member I have since I have had no communication with my father or his family since he left us. I have no intention of reaching out to him. In fact, I dreaded to see him again.
"How are you Faye?" Attorney Pachanon cheerfully asked me.
I scanned the beautiful lawyer from her face down to her feet. She didn't look like a typical lawyer in her outfit. Her voluptuous cleavage was peeking from her unbuttoned blazer, and her skirt was riding up her thighs, exposing her flawless legs. My mood change because of the sight in front of me and it made me feel something.
"Sweetheart, Attorney Pachanon was asking you, don't be rude." Uncle Fred said reverting me from my lustful thoughts.
Its been a year since Uncle Fred hired her as our legal counsel and she seems friendly and nice. But deep inside of me I know she's just another attractive woman who grabs opportunity to their favor. She knows our family owns a vast of fortune and the powerful connections we have. Most especially, she knows our vulnirability and weaknesses.
"Sorry. Errm, I'm perfectly fine, thank you for asking."
The lawyer smiled while looking at me intently.
"So why do you want to sell this mansion? This house is where you grow up with, there's a lot of memories..."
"Painful memories" I butted in
"Faye, this house was built by your parents for you. This is where they started, are you sure about your decision?"
I let out a sigh. This discussion makes my heart heavy it's like opening an old wound.
"I'm so sure uncle. I can't live in this house anymore. There are a lot of painful, traumatic memories here, I..." I stop and exhaled the air that stuck in my lungs. It seems like there's a lump in my throat. Uncle Fred saw my uneasiness.
"Okay I understand, I'm sorry sweetheart."
The old man raise his hand and call one of our housemaids. After a few minutes the maid handed me a glass of water.
"Did you visit your therapist lately? How about your medication? Are you still taking them?" Uncle bombarded me with questions and it even add to my anxiety.
"I haven't visited my doctor for a while. I'm fine uncle, I just want to have a new place to stay, a fresh invironment to start over.
"So where will you stay? I think its better if you stay with me so I can look after you."
"I already bought a house uncle, in Pemberley Heights."
"That's a nice place, but quite expensive." The lawyer commented.
"Hmm, Pemberley.." Uncle said, slightly nooding his head that indicates his approval.
"Its a nice place sweetheart, I heard its the most peaceful village and its not far from the city. Okay I'm at peace now, knowing you choose that place."
"Thanks Uncle Fred. Attorney, please prepare all the documents needed. My agent informed me yesterday that she already got a buyer."
"Noted Faye." The beautiful Attorney agreed.
"But I have something to discuss with you, can you please stay a little longer?"
"Sure" The lawyer replied enthusiastically.
"Hmm, so everything is settled then, I have to go now since I have a meeting one hour from now. I don't want to be late. I have to leave you two."
"Thank you Uncle Fred."
