As usual, morning had come, and no one could keep the night in place. The sun had also stayed behind. Snow was falling heavily. Everything was pure white. The surroundings looked as clean as a child's heart. And the clouds. The clouds covered the sky like a blanket. They hid the sun behind them. This familiar morning caused the streetlights to turn off. The only thing left was people. After a while, they would also fill the emptiness in the streets. A rush would sweep over this calm city. Cars would buzz down the roads, blending into the city's noise. But no one who had given up would join this crowd.

Once again, Eva had woken up earlier than everyone else and was watching outside through the window. She had decided to make a fresh start. Sitting around was of no use. She would just focus on continuing with her life. She quickly tied her hair up and washed her face and hands. She was going to have a nice breakfast and head to the last day of school. When she entered the kitchen, the scene she saw seemed unlikely to leave her mind. The shadow from last night had come out of the wall and was sitting at the table. But it was still in the form of a two-dimensional shadow. As soon as Eva saw it again, she widened her eyes and put her hands to her temples, trying to calm herself. She now thought the shadow was real. She ran and tried to punch it. But as soon as her fist hit it, the shadow disappeared. The only thing left was a round ball that had fallen to the ground. The shadow had turned into a ball. Eva stepped back in fear. Then she quickly composed herself and picked up the ball from the ground. There was a small red button on the ball. Without thinking, Eva pressed it. A voice started speaking. It was a deep, muffled voice:

-"This is the messenger speaking. If you are listening to this, find others like you. I will give you the address. Find those with power. Let me summarize the situation. In a place that is not on Earth, called the kingdom of Preven, chosen people are given powers. You are one of them. But pirates from the coastal town of Tabet, which is also not on Earth, are trying to steal your powers. A 'bloody moon' has covered the sky in the Preven Kingdom, and as long as it remains in the sky, the world will slowly burn. The Tabets will soon dominate the world and your powers. Only you, the chosen ones, can stop them. Now listen to me carefully. Go to the Black Forest. Find the Thorn Stone. Don't worry, you'll know it's the Thorn Stone when you see it. Break off one of the thorns from the stone and never part with it. Then find the Black Forest tree. One out of every five leaves on that tree is magical. Prick one of the leaves with the thorn you broke off. Keep trying until you find the magical leaf. If you find it, a map will appear on the leaf. Follow the map. But never part with the thorn. At the place the map points to, there will be a cave. Solving the puzzle inside is up to you. But when you reach the end, you will see four small tubes. You need to drop a drop of your blood into the correct tube using the thorn. Your blood contains power. This is why only you four special powerful people can open this door. It needs blood with power. Use the thorn to drop your blood. The door won't open without the blood of all four of you. A little reminder; the world is burning because of the Tabets and it will continue to burn. Look outside." At this, Eva quickly looked out the window. Three more houses were burning. She ran and turned on the news. All the news channels were reporting on burning cafes, houses, and forests. The causes of the fires were unknown. It was terrifying. The world was turning to ash. Eva sat on the couch and put her hands to the sides of her head. The next house to burn could be hers. She immediately got up and packed a backpack. She also took the small ball with her. School didn't matter. It was the last day anyway. The report card could very well stay at school. The Black Forest was eight kilometers away. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and put on some decent clothes. She wasn't very hungry at the moment. But she put some food and water in her backpack. She was ready to go. Since she didn't have time to buy a ticket, she would take multiple buses to get there. She set off. The first bus arrived quickly. Would she have to wait long for the others? Luckily, she had money. She hadn't spent much of what she had earned over a long period.

Eva sat in the front seat and got lost in thought. There was a new adventure ahead of her.

After all, wasn't life an adventure?
