tonight was the night of the champion's league final. toni's second champions league final, though he didn't count the first one that he was injured for and couldn't play in. he was nervous before every game he played, no matter who is was against, however, just as every other player, finals were so much more pressuring.

tonight was no different for the german as he got ready with his team, not twenty minutes before kick off. "i'm going to get some water" toni announced to his teammate and close friend, luka before exiting the changing room.

toni liked to leave the buzz of the dressing room prior to the game sometimes, to clear his head. as he wandered through the bernabéu, his thoughts wondered to the game ahead of him, he knew the job that had to be done, now all he had to do was do it.

once he got to the water filler, he had to wait behind a queue of various members of staff who were assumingly filling the bottle's for players that had requested them.

"excuse me, sir. would you mind if i went first, my brother is going to kill me if i take any longer to get his water" a small blonde , sporting an atletico jersey appeared before toni obviously flustered. "i went the wrong way and got lost, i was supposed to be back to him like 10 minutes ago. oh god he's gonna kill me" the girl trailed off. toni simply smiled at the girl, amused. "it's okay. go ahead" he smiled warmly at the girl. "muchos gracias" she spoke in an accent that definitely wasn't spanish.

"again thank you so mu- oh dear god. you're a player. oh mon dieu" she cursed herself. "i am so sorry for making you wait. how selfish of me, um good luck for the game" she exclaimed. "it's okay, seriously don't worry about it. you were so panicked, i couldn't bare making you more upset" toni smiled down at the shorter girl, who's blue eyes he got lost in.

"you're an atleti fan?" he asked not wanting to make the girl feel uncomfotable. "well, i don't really care for the spanish teams much. i'm not from here" she explains. "neither am i, though i still care for them a little bit." he chuckles at his own joke slightly, motioning to his kit.

"see my brother plays for atleti, so i have to like them" she explains. "who's your brother?" toni asks the girl, intrigued at her openness. "antoine griezmann"

"i know antoine, he's a nice guy. interesting hairstyles" toni comments, causing the girl to giggle and agree. "i can't keep up with his hairstyles." she giggled. "oh my god, i got distracted again, i'm so sorry" the french girl suddenly remembered her brother's water. "i would say good luck but if i do, my brother will never speak to me again" she half joked half didn't. "come find me after the game, either to console me or congratulate me" toni smiled at the girl, "i will" she agreed.

"before you go, can i please get your name?" toni asked her. "isabelle"

"goodbye isabelle, i'm toni"

the only word on his tongue the entire walk back to the changing room, the entire time in the tunnel, even at times during the game; whenever he set up a corner or free kick, whenever he saw antoine in front of him- toni noticed their physical similarities.

toni would not deny that the game was tough, though real madrid happened to have a knack for performing best under those circumstances.

the game ended in a 4-1 win for real madrid, toni could not be happier. he doesn't think he has stopped smiling since the final whistle blew. he was now a two time champions league winner. he won the biggest league in europe in his first season with the club. toni had of course always dreamt for this, though there were times when he thought that it wouldn't be possible. when bayern munich had refused to pay him more money, because they didn't feel he was good enough, toni believed that after that his career would never progress further and that, that would be the end of his professional football career. that was until carlo ancelotti saved him. he saw the potential in young toni kroos and took a risk a signed him. and how grateful toni and the rest of real madrid were. toni turned into a young starlet within games, madrid giving him the space to grow as a footballer and as a person. toni had never felt so content, proud and driven in his career until right now.
