They landed at the airstrip that was built in a part of Dark Haven. It was a new construction but highly needed. Everyone had access to sign up for the coven jets. Though they rarely used them so far. The jet landed and Amour came out first. Elijah was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. "My love," he greeted her and she kissed him while the others came off of the plane. Prudence and Ambrose followed behind her quickly.
"Husband, this is Prudence Blackwood and Ambrose Spellman," Amour said to him.
"Lovely to meet you both," Elijah said and shook Ambrose's hand while kissing Prudence's fingertips. They both seemed impressed with his manners.
"We should get you both moved in. We have free apartments for coven members. You can start there as you get used to it. Then you can pick up the listings for homes at the Clubhouse. Where is my temporary assistant?" Amour asked and Kol appeared with some folders in his hand, "Hello, brother in law. Come meet our newcomers."
"I am Kol Mikaelson. You are both insanely attractive. These are your welcome packets," Kol said, handing the folders over to them, causally blowing by the hitting on them.
"Thank you," Prudence said, looking him up and down and loving his energy.
"So where do you live?" Ambrose asked Kol.
"A lovely modern home I had built. You're both welcome anytime," he said.
"Thank you, Kol," Amour said, stomach slightly churning and feeling extremely tired, "inside your welcome packs are maps of our town, a contact sheet list, and the times of worship service. There is also a list of open positions in the very back. Please feel free to explore these. As I said before, everyone in Dark Haven has a purpose." They both nodded, "Alright, Kol, since you are so helpful, please take them to the apartments. They'll be on the third floor."
"You got it boss lady." She rolled her eyes and was led off by Elijah. Bonnie followed right by them.
"How was the trip?" Elijah asked them both once they got in the car.
"It was fine. I know, Amour, you said the goddess wanted Zelda but I'm actually happy she turned you down."
"She didnt turn me down. But why?"
"Something felt off about it. Like she was used to be one of the best viewed families. aNd we've alreayd got those here. Without trying so hard."
"I understand what you're saying. But that's exactly why I'm not bothered. They were favored by the Dark Lord. Bennetts are favored by Hekate. There is no harm in having them here. They won't take our position."
"I know."
"Do you?" Bonnie looked unsure.
"I do. I just-. Okay, I see what you're saying. I will work on my jealousies," Bonnie said and Amour hugged her.
"Good. Now how's school? Have you decided what you're doing yet?"
"You know I want to teach."
"Are you sure, though?"
"Did the goddess tell you something?"
"No, I just don't want you to settle because you want to stay in Dark Haven."
"Do you have any ideas?"
"Well it's not currently an opening. But I'm eventually going to want someone to do more research on rituals of Hekate. There has to be rituals and grimoires that exist in history. I want the temple to own as many of them as we can. So it will be someone's responsibility to search for them and the rituals, in combination with me, of course."
"That sounds amazing. I'd still be learning and teaching. What would the qualifications be?"
"Maybe a Masters degree or two. Learning more about research. You'd have time."
"I totally want to think about it. But I think I'd really like that."
"I'm glad."
Yule was quite a large celebration in the town of Dark Haven. The darker part of the year was a favorite of their goddess, so it was felt throughout the town. The entire town was covered in a layer of fresh white snow. Not slushy or brown like in the city. People visited the temple every day. Both to pray and to help out in anyway that they could.
Prudence and Ambrose began to fit in quite well. Though they did walk around with and air of disbelief around them. Bonnie liked hanging around Prudence even though she was slightly younger. "You go to university?" Prudence asked her as they were sitting down at the Cauldron.
"I do. I go to a place called Whitmore. But I did my first year at Yale. Honestly, I'm hoping I could transfer back."
"Why did you leave?"
"Everyone is so special here. I just felt like I couldn't compete."
"But isn't the point of this place thta you don't have to?"
"Yes, but it took me a while to actually feel like no one was competing. I grew up with two best friends. One of them was a blond haired blue eyed head cheerleader. The other was...well there wasn't anything particularly special about her in my opinion. But others would disagree."
"Was she a powerful witch?"
"No. She's this magical being called a doppelganger. Which really just means her family keeps birthing people with the same face," Bonnie said."What would be the benefit of that?"
"Absolutely nothing. We think it started with the first person to bastardize a Bennett spell. The gods needed to keep the balance so they needed mortal versions of themselves that would keep dying. Of course, had it been the Bennett to take it, that wouldn't be required. But enough of my complaining. What are your plans?"
"I never thought about university. But I suppose it is a nice idea." There was a flash of light and Tate appeared.
"Baby!" Bonnie said and got up to kiss him. She turned back to Prudence, "This is my boyfriend, Tate Jin. Tate, this is Prudence Blackwood. She's new to Dark Haven."
"Always a delight to meet another witch," Tate said and kissed both her cheeks, European style.
"nice to meet you as well. Will you be joining us?"
"I thought i might grab a quick snack."
"I thought you had meetings all day?" Bonnie said to Tate.
"Finished early. The goddess told me that last meeting was going to be useless anyway." He sat down and waved his hand towards the bar, paper flying out with his order on it. It sailed over to them as he took off his suit jacket. "So, Miss Blackwood, how are you enjoying your first week in Dark Haven?"
"Its wonderful. Did you move here for Bonnie?"
"No, I've actually lived here my whole life. It's changed slightly but it's really only gotten better."
"What do you do for the coven?"
"Well I don't currently live here anymore because I own my own business independent of the covens. I work in technology."
"Interesting. So you spend a lot of time with mortals?" Prudence asked but Bonnie and Tate laughed.
"No. Tate can't stand humans."
"Why I'm allowed to have a property here is because I bring jobs." She nodded. "So are you attached?"
"Yes. I've been with Ambrose Spellman for the past year. It started out as something casual but-"
"Then you realized he's your person. or one of your persons?" Bonnie asked. Tate held her hand and she knew exactly what that felt like.
"Why one of?" Tate asked.
"babe, you should see the sexual energy that is created when they're both in the room with Kol."
"Oh, how interesting," he said with a raised brow.
"I'm sure nothing will come of it," Prudence said nonchalantly.
"Don't be too sure. The only one who really knows is the goddess," bonnie said.
