Yoongi POV

I finish the last swig of whiskey straight from the bottle and drop it onto the carpeted floor of my studio. Leaning back on the couch, I close my eyes, tears streaming down my face for what feels like the millionth time today. Will the betrayal ever stop hurting? The problem is, I blame myself. I am the one who encouraged her to take the contract. If I had only known. I scoot down on the couch a little as I feel myself drifting off to sleep.

"Min Yoongi."

I turn around and see a man, vaguely familiar, walking towards me.

"Do you know who I am?" He asks.

"I feel like I do..."

"I am Morpheus."

Ah, yes.

"What do you want?"

"I don't have a lot of time and I must speak with you about Ava."

"Ava? No thanks."

"I implore you. It is an emergency."

I turn to walk off, "Find someone who gives a shit."

"She is about to die."

That stops me in my tracks. No matter what has happened, I still love her, and the thought of her dying sends a cold shiver down my spine."

"What do you mean?" I ask, turning to look at him.

"She hasn't been able to sleep, so she convinced her doctor to give her sleeping pills. She takes them back to back, staying nearly constantly asleep. She says she'd rather spend time with me, someone who loves her, than be in a world where she has lost everything."

"So? Sleep never killed anyone."

"No, but she has started asking me questions about what happens to a soul when someone dies."

"Ok, and?"

"She asked if she died, could she stay with me in the Dreaming forever."

"What?"

"I think she may..."

He swallows thickly, unable to finish.

"Can I show you something?" He asks.

"Uh, sure."

Suddenly, I am standing in a restaurant, in a private area. Ava is there with HIM. My fists clench, knowing what's coming next.

"So, Ava. How are things with your soulmates?"

"They are good. I mean, we haven't been able to see each other much lately." She says,

"I'm sorry. That is partly my fault."

"Well, the good thing is, we are almost done."

He scoots his chair closer to her and drapes his arm on the back of her chair.

"I still don't understand the whole situation." He adds.

"Listen, Jack, I have told you. I love my soulmates. The only reason I even considered this project was to help the company. I have friends there, I don't want it to go under. That's why I've always made sure I was never in a room alone with you."

"But we were good together once, weren't we?"

"Look, I am not comfortable with this. I am going to leave."
