Addie

Waking up to three missed calls and texts from my parents isn't the most wonderful feeling in the morning. My morning mood is definitely not ready to handle a conversation with them. I put down the phone on the nightstand before
putting my face back into the pillow. Hazel is snoring next to me, sleeping like a baby. I try to do the same for what feels like forever but I did the mistake to check my phone the first thing in the morning, which means that there is no way I will be able to relax knowing that my parents have been trying to reach me. I try to sit up in my comfortable bed even though I have no energy to do it, grabbing my phone while letting out a big yawn.

Mom: Family dinner tonight at our house, 7pm.

Mom: You all need to be there.

Dad: You got your mom's text, see you at dinner tonight.

Mom 2 missed calls

Dad 1 missed call.

Why do they always have to call when I don't respond back quick enough. They won't be seeing me at the family dinner though because I have made plans with Niall for tonight. He asked me out last night which I didn't really expect him to do. That must mean that he does have feelings too. Well I might have excepted it to happen someday but not so soon. I look forward to it though.

Me: Already have plans, sorry.

I know they will get all upset with me for responding like that, but we are still not on good terms so why not keep it this way for a little while. They fired Niall and I got upset with them, which made them upset with me because they couldn't understand why I defended Niall. He might punched my dad in the face but he definitely deserved it in that moment, and it also proves that Niall is willing to do a lot of things for me. No matter what the consequences will be.

I decide to text my siblings as well to tell them to make an excuse for why they can't show up either.

Theo: Yeah I want to go to this party tonight but they won't let me out of the house.

Poor Theo, still living with our parents. It must be like real torture.

Victoria: Addie this might be important, you should show up for at least an hour.

Me: I'm not talking to them right now, not after everything that happened.

Theo: That assistant dude giving dad a black eye was pretty insane right?

Me: Assistant dude? You mean Niall.

Victoria: Is that the reason you're still mad? Because they fired that cute blonde guy who ran up to you the second he heard you crying? 

A smile grows on my lips as I think of Niall comforting me immediately after he heard me crying outside my dad's office.

Theo: Does Addie have an admirer huh?

Oh for gods sake.

Me: I have plans tonight, I'm not going and neither are you guys.

I put the phone back down on the nightstand not bothering having any conversation with my family members right now. I might need information from my parents about the money situations to do my research for my essay, though I might not get much out of them. That's when I realise how to get information, write a good essay and actually figure out how to fix all those problems my parents have caused. I'll have to go to the office and found information by myself. But they can't know anything, which means that I have to be there when they are not.
