A/N: Hey everyone! I just wanted to apologize for the delay in updates, I got busy and just did not have time. However, I am back and have a few chapters to upload today! As always, I hope you enjoy it!

Jackson

I watched as the boy was tumbling to his death. I thought I could get there in time, I thought he would be okay. I thought I could help.

When I finally made my way down to where the boy had landed, I brought him back to the ground. I lay him there and put his head on my lap. We sat in silence on the cold concrete until I heard the boy whimper. I could faintly hear emergency sirens in the background but soon enough all the sounds around us faded out as if it was only it was us here.

"Shhh, it is okay little one, everything will be okay." I tried to reassure him as I ran my fingers through his brown hair. I did not know how to be gentle, but I was trying.

"I- I want my mommy." He cried. He was barely alive, and his head was bleeding too much. Blood began to come out of his mouth and run down his chin.

"I know, I know. Mommy will be here soon, okay?"

"Thank you..." The boy whispered.

"For what?" I asked.

"You were the only one to h-help me." He answered back.

Time seemed to stop.

"Why did she do it?" He asks again.

She? Who Is she?

"She who?"

The boy's eyes close for a little bit before he opens them again. "The girl who was with us...u-up there.' He began to talk, and I shushed him again, afraid if he spoke too much he would die quicker. He began crying more, asking if he was going to die. I could not give him those answers, so I began to hum to calm the child down quietly.

It worked, he stopped crying, and then, just as I was finishing the last verse of my humming, the child went limp, and his eyes closed as his breathing stopped.

I looked down at him, cursing myself for not getting to him faster. I hadn't even noticed the crowd of people who were inside the statue all coming out finally, they gathered in front of me and the little boy. Then one stepped up, pointing an accusing finger at me.

"You! Phantom! You did this! You killed that boy!" The person shouted, causing the rest to look at me with disgust.

What? No? I didn't do this. I look behind me to see Mist and that girl...the one who did all this!

Fuck!

The Mist and her look pretty close too. But Mist was there, he would show that all this was a misunderstanding, and I did not kill the boy.

How foolish of me to think.

The mist just walked up to me, grabbed the little boy from my arms, and addressed the crowd.

"THIS is who phantom is! THIS is the kind of evil he is capable of! Remember this moment! All of you! A defenseless kid! He couldn't even spare."

I was in shock. The Mist was many things, but he had never lied on my name before. But as he stands here and the crowd cheers for him, chanting how much of a hero he is to the city, I realize something.

I will always be their villain.

Mara

I packed a small bag, I decided I was going over to Cody's, taking out my phone I sent him a quick message to let him know that I would be coming over soon.

Throwing the tie-dye bag over my shoulder I grab my light pink ribbon and tie my hair into a ponytail with it. As I head out of the door, I spot Amanda on the couch hitting her vape and watching the news.

"You have to see this!" She called me over.

I sat on the couch and watched as the news reporter was speaking to a crying woman.
"He killed my baby! That monster killed my son! My only son. Dallas was a good boy, had great grades, and never got in trouble at school. He had a bright future ahead of him and Phantom ripped that all to shred when he let my baby fall to his death!"

"Jesus. Why would Phantom do that?" Amanda asked.

I shook my head. Phantom was known around here. He was known to cause trouble; he had done horrible things. Things no human should ever do. He was a true villain. But then the tv began playing a recording of when the boy was found. I can see from this camera angle Phantom holding the boy in his lap, before The Mist- Cody, comes and grabs him out of his arms and tells the crowd what a horrible person Phantom is for killing the boy.

"Looks like hero man has done it again." Amanda says.

I ignored her though because my focus was on Phantom in the background. He looks...defeated. I shake my head, telling myself I'm thinking too much about it. However Cody has probably had a hard day, he needs me.

"Yeah, tragic. I have to go. I'll be back in a few days I guess." I tell her before storming out. I could not stand there and go through her list again, not right now.

I reach Cody's place in record time. I have started just letting myself in so that is exactly what I do. When I enter his living room, I hear something...like banging? In his room?

I make my way to his bedroom door and shove it open.

I freeze.

On his bed is Cody, with Maria's legs wrapped around his waist as he thrust into her over and over.

One

Two

Three

Three thrust until they notice me standing there. Maria jumps up on her elbows as Cody scrambles to get up, covering himself with a pillow.

"Mara! I- "

"No." I say flat. I feel tears stinging in my eyes already. How could he do this? I knew I couldn't trust Maria, I just assumed I could trust Cody, my Cody.

He walks over to me after pulling his boxers on. "Mara, I am so sorry, I- it just happened- "

I cut him off with a slap across his face. I feel a little better at the red handprint I see appearing.

Maria decides to make this moment to come over as well.

"Mara, I know you are upset, but there's no reason to get violent."

I lose my cool. "Shut the fuck up. You have no right to tell me what is appropriate to do, considering you just had your legs spread for a taken man. And you!" I say turning my attention to Cody who is holding his face. "You are a piece of shit. I should have known you were nothing but a player. You both deserve each other. Me and you Cody, we are done."

I turn around and walk out of his place, him begging me to stay from behind. I ignore him as I walk down the street, leaving him and Maria behind.
