What happens when Dallas Winston, a 17 year old troubled boy from New York meets Janelle Welson, a 15 year old sweet girl from Louisiana? Normally nothing..

But what if the two have completely opposite mindsets?

Dallas was known for lying, cheating, stealing, and fighting. Janelle wanted to fix that.

Janelle was known for kindness, sweetness, helping, and cheerfulness. Dallas wanted to ruin that.

This story does take place in the 1960s just like the book.

This book contains abuse, foul language, advantage taking, and overall dumb decisions.

This book may have a sad or a happy ending, I have not decided yet.

The word 'Mulatto' is used in the book multiple times to explain the main female character.

Mulatto was and still is sometimes considered a racist word to explain a mixed person with a black descents. The reason it is used in the book is because racism was normalized back then, the word Mulatto wasn't considered as racist as the N-word.

And, yes, the main female character is a mixed girl with black, white, and French descents.
