There's a Chance

~Angel's POV~

I close the door to my room with a smile. But my eyes widen and my smile fades once I realize what I just did.

"Oh shit, why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that?" I cried. I face plant onto my bed and start screaming into my pillow. "He wasn't supposed to find out this way!! FUCK!!"

I pull out my phone and call Cherri. After the third missed call, I just gave up. I sat on my bed, resisting the urge to bang my head into a wall. After a while I decided I should go to sleep, so naturally, I lay there for hours staring at the ceiling.

~Husk's POV~

Angel shut the door as I felt my face heat up. I feel my knees buckle as I put my finger over the place he had kissed me.

"Goodnight, legs," I said before walking back to my room

~Angel's POV~

I woke up early the next morning, just kidding, I never went to sleep. I blame the ✨Anxiety✨

I walked downstairs and saw Husk at the bar. Our eyes met and I quickly looked away. I walk to the kitchen and grab a bagel. I sit on the couch and start to nibble at the bagel. After some awkward silence, husk says something.

"You wanna talk about...last night?" He asks.

"No, not really," I immediately answer.

"We can't just pretend it never happened," He claimed. I knew we couldn't, but I wanted to. I don't want to lose this friendship, it's the most important thing to me.

"Why not?" I ask, hoping he doesn't have a reason.

"Because if you don't talk about it with me, you'll talk about it with cherri and she'll convince you to talk about it with me, so let's just get it out of the way," He answered.

"...I hate it when you use logic" I mutter under my breath as I walk over to him and sit on a barstool.

"And I hate it when you don't," He says back, "Now, why did you-" I cut him off.

"I DON'T KNOW!! OK!! I JUST...don't know," I confessed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, and I know you don't feel the same and-"

"I never said that," He asked. We stayed silent for a while, staring into each other's eyes. He wore a soft smile and there was a glimmer in his eyes. My eyes started to water hearing what he said.

"You do...do you feel the same?" I asked him while a tear fell down my face, praying to Lucifer that he does.

"I...don't know, but I do know that for the past few days, I've felt something for you that wasn't there before, and I don't know what it is," He answers.

"So..." I wipe a tear from my eye, look down, and chuckle to myself, "There's a chance you feel the same way?" I asked, he doesn't say anything, he just nods.

"I think I can settle for a chance," I look back up at him and softly smile.

"...me too" He hesitates to say. His pupils dilate while looking into my eyes.

I walk upstairs and go up to my room. I open the door and I'm greeted by the high-pitched oinking of fat nuggets. I pick him up and set him on my lap after closing the door and sitting on my bed.

"Hey nuggs, are you glad that Mommy's home," I say while he is squealing out of excitement, "I'm glad to see you too baby," After a little while I decide I need to start getting ready for bed.

I take off my makeup and take a cold shower. Then I brush my teeth and blow dry my hair. I put on an oversized T-shirt and short shorts to sleep in and I lay in my bed.

I try to sleep but I just can't stop thinking about husk and the fact that there is a chance that he likes me. A very small chance...who am I kidding, he doesn't like me, and he never will...not the way I like him.
