The night sky, adorned with a serene moon, fills my heart with joy. The moon selflessly spreads its light, bathing the earth in a gentle glow. Under the bakul tree, the ground is strewn with its fragrant blossoms. Despite the late hour, sleep eludes me as the clock strikes eleven. The tranquility of the night wraps around me, making me feel lost in its embrace. From a corner of the house, I hear my younger brother's diligent study murmurs. The thought of leaving this loving home for Jorhat tomorrow saddens me. Though I am headed there for my studies, the anticipation of the departure feels heavy. My mother, displeased with my wakefulness, has already turned off the lights. Finally, I get into bed to seek sleep.
