Love had always admired the intensity and grace with which Prim and Tu played volleyball. Their practice sessions were a spectacle of athleticism and teamwork, and Love often found herself captivated by their fluid movements and powerful spikes. Today, the practice was held on a sunlit field, with the net strung up between two sturdy poles and the grass underfoot adding a fresh, earthy scent to the air.
Love and View settled themselves on a nearby blanket, ready to cheer on their friends. The field was alive with the sound of laughter and the smack of the volleyball being hit back and forth. Prim and Tu were in their element, calling out plays and encouraging their teammates with infectious enthusiasm.
As the practice progressed, Love's attention was repeatedly drawn to a girl with long hair and glasses who seemed to be a part of the team. She moved with confident ease, her long hair swinging with each movement. At one point, Love noticed her deep in conversation with Tu, both of them laughing about something Love couldn't quite hear from her spot on the blanket.
When the practice finally wrapped up, and the team began to disperse, Love's curiosity got the better of her. She approached Tu and Prim as they gathered their gear. "Hey Tu, who was that girl you were talking to earlier? The one with the long hair and glasses? She looks like she came from heaven"
Prim, always quick with a teasing remark, grinned broadly. "Oh, that's Milk. She's been practicing with us for a while now. She's your crush isn't she?"
Tu nodded, adding more context. "Yeah, her full name is Milk Pansa Vosbein. She's got some serious skills and a great sense of humor."
View, who had been listening quietly, chimed in with a hint of curiosity. "How do you know her so well, Tu?"
Tu shrugged, a playful smile on her lips. "We're pretty close. She's like a sister to me. We hang out a lot outside of practice."
Prim leaned in towards Love, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "You know, Love, you should totally add Milk on Facebook. She'd probably love to get to know you."
Love's cheeks turned a light shade of pink, and she quickly shook her head. "No, no. I just wanted to know her name. I'm not looking to add her or anything."
Tu's grin widened. "I'll tell Milk you're interested in her"
Love's eyes widened in mock horror. "Don't you dare!" She laughed, unable to stay serious amidst the playful teasing from her friends.
View, ever the voice of gentle reason, smiled at Love. "Why not, Love? She seems really nice. You might end up being good friends."
Love shook her head again, though she couldn't hide her smile. "I'm just curious, that's all. No need to make a big deal out of it."
As they packed up their things and started walking across the field, the golden light of the setting sun casting long shadows, Love found herself thinking more about Milk. There was something undeniably intriguing about her-her confidence, her skill, her easy laughter.
Prim and Tu continued to tease Love about her curiosity, making exaggerated suggestions about how Love and Milk might become best friends, or even start a volleyball duo of their own. Love laughed along with them, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the girl with the long hair and glasses.
When they reached the edge of the field, the four friends fell into step together, heading back towards their classroom. The corridor was filled with the familiar sounds of students wrapping up their activities for the day. As they walked, Prim and Tu's teasing took on a lighter, more supportive tone, assuring Love that Milk was a great person to get to know.
As they entered the classroom, the vibrant energy of the day lingered in the air. They found their seats and continued their conversation, the playful banter now mixed with genuine encouragement. Love glanced around the room, feeling a sense of comfort and possibility. Maybe, just maybe, she would take Prim and Tu's advice and reach out to Milk. But for now, she was content to enjoy the moment and the companionship of her friends. There was always tomorrow, and the promise of new connections waiting to be made.
