The days that followed Love and Milk's decision to take a break were difficult for Love. She was still healing from the heartache, but she found comfort in the routine of their daily conversations. Even though they were no longer together, their bond had not completely shattered, and they continued to talk every day.

One evening, as they chatted about their day, Milk brought up something that hit Love harder than she had anticipated.

“Love, I’ve been meaning to tell you something,” Milk began hesitantly. “I think I have a crush on Ciize.”

Love’s heart sank. She had hoped that their break would give them both time to heal and perhaps find their way back to each other. Hearing that Milk had developed feelings for someone else made her realize that maybe Milk had already moved on.

“That’s great, Milk,” Love replied, forcing a smile she hoped Milk could hear through the phone. “Ciize is a wonderful person. I’m happy for you.”

“Thanks, Love,” Milk said, her voice filled with relief. “I was worried about telling you, but I really value your opinion.”

Love swallowed the lump in her throat and mustered the strength to support her friend. “I’m glad you told me. You deserve to be happy.”

As they wrapped up their conversation, Love felt the weight of her emotions pressing down on her. She needed an escape, an excuse to end the call and deal with her feelings alone.

“I think I’m going to head to bed now,” she said softly. “I’m really sleepy.”

“Alright, good night, Love. Sleep well,” Milk replied.

“Good night, Milk,” Love whispered before ending the call.

The moment the call ended, Love felt the tears she had been holding back start to flow. She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling the full force of her heartbreak. Unable to keep it to herself, she reached for her phone and messaged her friends.

“Hey guys, I need to talk,” she typed into their group chat, her hands shaking. “Milk just told me she has a crush on Ciize. I don’t know what to do.”

Almost immediately, Prim, Tu, and View responded.

“Oh, Love, I’m so sorry,” Prim wrote. “That must be really hard to hear.”

Tu’s message was equally supportive. “We’re here for you. It’s okay to feel hurt.”

View chimed in, her empathy evident. “Take your time, Love. It’s okay to feel this way. We’ll help you through it.”

Love felt a small measure of comfort from their words, but the pain in her heart was still overwhelming. She poured out her feelings to them, telling them about how she had hoped for a reconciliation with Milk and how hearing about Milk’s new crush felt like a final nail in the coffin.

“It just feels like I’m never going to get over this,” she typed, her tears blurring the screen. “I want to support her as a friend, but it hurts so much.”

Prim’s reply was swift. “You don’t have to pretend you’re okay if you’re not. It’s alright to need time to heal.”

Tu added, “And remember, you’re not alone. We’re with you every step of the way.”

View’s message was gentle but firm. “You’re stronger than you think, Love. You’ll get through this, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.”

As she read their messages, Love felt a bit of the weight lift off her shoulders. She knew her friends were right, but the pain was still raw. They stayed with her virtually, sending messages of comfort and reassurance until she felt a bit more stable.

“Thanks, everyone,” she finally wrote. “I’m going to try to get some sleep now. I really appreciate you all.”

“Anytime, Love,” Prim replied. “We’re always here for you.”

“Good night, and try to rest,” Tu added.

“Sweet dreams, Love,” View wrote.

Love put down her phone and lay back on her pillow, tears still streaming down her face. She cried herself to sleep, her heart heavy with the realization that Milk was moving on, and she needed to find a way to do the same.

The following days were tough. Love tried to keep herself busy, focusing on schoolwork, hobbies, and spending time with her friends. But every time she saw Milk or heard her name, the pain resurfaced. It felt like a wound that refused to heal.

Despite her efforts, Love found it difficult to move on. She kept replaying moments in her mind, wondering what she could have done differently, how things might have been if they had stayed together. She knew she needed to let go, but it was easier said than done.

Her friends remained a constant source of support, always ready to listen and offer a shoulder to cry on. They encouraged her to focus on self-care, reminding her that it was okay to prioritize her own well-being.

One evening, as they all sat together in a cozy café, Love opened up about her ongoing struggle.

“I still can’t stop thinking about her,” she admitted, her voice trembling. “I want to be happy for her, but it’s so hard.”

Prim reached out and squeezed Love’s hand. “It’s okay, Love. Healing takes time. You don’t have to rush it.”

Tu nodded in agreement. “You’re allowed to feel hurt and take the time you need. Just remember we’re here for you.”

View offered a warm smile. “You’re doing your best, and that’s enough. You’ll get through this, one day at a time.”

Love felt a surge of gratitude for her friends. Their unwavering support was a beacon of hope in her dark times. She knew she still had a long way to go, but with their help, she believed she could eventually find peace and move forward.

As the weeks turned into months, Love slowly began to find her footing. The pain didn’t disappear overnight, but it became more manageable. She allowed herself to grieve, to feel the emotions fully, and in doing so, she started to heal.
