Imagine you become a Quidditch star, only for someone from your past to show up unexpectedly.

Joining the Holyhead Harpies was not something you had dreamed of doing. If anything, you had dreams of becoming an Auror or a Medi-witch. But after the second Wizarding War was over, the last thing you wanted to do was continue fighting Dark Wizards, who most, unfortunately, you knew personally or have to face death again. And the thought of sitting behind a desk at the Ministry of Magic made you fidget just thinking about it. It wasn't until you saw in the Daily Prophet that the Department of Magical Games and Sports was having a large Quidditch try-out for all teams, that you decided to try out on a whim, after all you had played on your house team at Hogwarts, so you at least had some experience. What else did you have to lose? You had broken contact with your family after your father was whisked off to Azkaban and refused to marry to ensure the bloodline of your family, which according to your mother was your duty, so trying out to be a professional Quidditch player seemed like the proper slap in the face to her and your family name. By some miracle, you not only found yourself recruited to be on the Holyhead Harpies, but within two years, you were named captain.
To your surprise, you absolutely loved being a professional Quidditch player. You got to travel all over Europe, and you weren't stuck in some stuffy office or bound to some terrible sod. Your team quickly became the family you never had. Being an only child was not the most ideal upbringing, especially when your parents tried to force-feed you their 'Pureblood' beliefs. However, your team was a bit restless as of late because you had received word that your owner had been bought out by an unknown wealthy buyer. While these types of things were common in the sporting world, it made all of you uneasy as it was so sudden. So here you were standing next to your manager and co-captain, the rest of the team on the pitch behind you, waiting for your new owner to arrive so you could formally introduce yourselves.
"Do we even know what their name is?" Ginny asked from next to you.
You shook your head, "No idea. I don't even know if they're male or female. From Britian or even know anything about Quidditch. With our luck, it could be some rich sod who knows nothing about the sport and just sees us as his money maker."
Ginny huffed, "Godric, I hope not. Williams was a great owner. You don't think they'll try to change up the roster, do you? We have such a good dynamic that I just know we'll make it to the British Quidditch Cup this year, maybe even make it onto the English Quidditch World Cup team."
You smiled at her remarks. Making Ginny your co-captain was the best decision you ever made for the team. While you were a year apart at Hogwarts and came from rival houses, you were the perfect duo. You balanced each other out and kept each other grounded when it came to your grand ideas and schemes for the team. You heard chatter up ahead at the main gate of the pitch. Your manager made their way over to the group of board members that were walking in. You and Ginny tried to look over the crowd, trying to place the person who was your new owner. Finally, you watched as a man stepped forward, extending his hand out to your manager. You felt all the blood drain from your face, your heart dropping in your stomach.
"Is... is that Draco Malfoy?" Ginny asked with shock.
You couldn't respond. You were too busy trying not to panic and run the other way. The last thing your team needed was for their captain to be a coward, but you were no Gryffindor. You felt Ginny's hand on your arm.
"(Y/N)? Are you okay?" she asked softly.
You swallowed the lump in your throat as you watched your manager gesture for Draco to follow them, leading him towards yourself and Ginny. His eyes never left yours as the introductions were made.
