Imagine that a marriage law has passed in the wizarding world, causing you to have to find a husband.

This imagine inspired me to start writing my Sirius Black x Reader story (Something There), so if you notice similarities, that's why! I might also write a part two!

********

The law had passed. You knew it was coming, Kingsley warned you all, but it actually happened. Voldemort's followers had managed to take over the Ministry of Magic. Any witch who was of age and unmarried would be betrothed to a wizard by random if they were not already married before the end of the year. That left you three weeks before you would most likely be put with a Death Eater. Being an only child of a pureblood family that was not part of Voldemort's agenda meant you were highly sought after. Not to mention, you were the last of your bloodline since your parents had died from Dragonpox. You were pacing your sitting room when you heard the alarms of your wards going off. But it was the alarm that signaled it was someone who was permitted on your property. Before they could even knock on your cottage door, you opened it to only be engulfed by Fleur's hug. Looking over her shoulder you saw Bill with a sad smile.

"Ve came as zoon as ve heard ze newz," Fleur said with her thick accent as she pulled away from you.

Bill was next to bring you into a hug. You, Bill, and his brother Charlie had all attended Hogwarts together, becoming close friends. Pulling away from Bill, you opened the door wider to let them into your small home.

"Vere do you keep your trunk?" Fleur asked.

You frowned, "It's at the foot of my bed."

She nodded in response and immediately went to your room, gathering some of your things as she went. You turned towards Bill, your face showing confusion.

"We're getting you out of here. Somewhere safe until we can figure out what to do," he said with a small smile.

You felt your shoulders drop, "You mean until you all figure out who to marry me off to before the law goes into effect."

You could hear Fleur moving things around, "I don't vant them to be zusspious, zo I am only packing ezentials."

You nodded in response as you went to help her fill your trunk. You focused on your clothes, leaving some behind that didn't fit or were old. You made sure to grab the most important of family heirlooms, a few books, and pictures. If Death Eaters or the Ministry were to show up at your cottage, it would seem as if you hadn't really fled, giving the illusion that you weren't in hiding. Once your trunk was packed, you quickly grabbed the carrier for your black cat, Kelpie.

"I can't believe you still have this cat," Bill said with amusement.

"Be nice to her," you said as you closed the carrier, "She may be old, but she is still sweet."

Bill chuckled as he used a charm for your trunk to follow the three of you out as you locked the door to your cottage. Making your way towards the apparating point, you turned one last time to look at the place you had called home for so long. You felt a gentle hand on your arm.

"Don't vorry," Fleur said softly, "Von day you vill be back."

You gave her a small smile and nodded before the three of you apparated away.

The three of you arrived outside of Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place. You raised an eyebrow at Bill. "I thought we were going to the Burrow or to Shell Cottage," you said as he helped you up the steps.

"You'll be safest here for now," he replied.

You suddenly felt your heart drop in your stomach with nerves, "Please don't tell me Sirius is in the running." You look towards Bill, him giving you a knowing smile.

You've reached the end of published parts.
