At the Grand City Museum, the curator, Mr. Halliday, greeted them with a mix of anxiety and determination. He had already begun quietly increasing security measures, but the news of a potential terrorist attack had him on edge.
"Thank you for coming," Mr. Halliday said, his voice trembling slightly.
"I've done what I can to secure the museum, but we need more help. The Crows are dangerous, and my staff isn't prepared for this."
"We're here to help," Estelle assured him. "We've got a plan to disrupt their operations and protect the museum. But we need your cooperation."
Mr. Halliday nodded, relief flooding his face. "Tell me what to do."
Valentino and Estelle outlined their plan: heightened security, a visible police presence to deter any initial attempts, and a well-placed distraction to keep the Crows off balance. Estelle would use her connections to gather more intelligence, while Valentino would be on the ground, ready to act if things went sideways.
As the day of the planned attack drew closer, tension mounted. Valentino's bakery became a hub of activity as they coordinated with the museum staff and undercover police officers. The Crows were cunning, but they wouldn't be expecting such a well-orchestrated defense.
On the day of the attack, the museum was bustling with visitors. Valentino, dressed as a security guard, kept a watchful eye on the crowd. Estelle, blending in with the patrons, moved through the exhibit halls, looking for any signs of the Crows.
The first sign of trouble came when a group of suspicious individuals entered the museum, their eyes darting around nervously. Valentino signaled to the undercover officers, who discreetly positioned themselves to intercept.
Estelle, meanwhile, noticed a man in a maintenance uniform heading towards the clock exhibit. She followed him at a distance, her heart pounding. As he reached the exhibit, he pulled out a set of tools and began tampering with the clock's mechanisms.
Valentino saw the signal from Estelle and moved in, his hand hovering over the revolver hidden beneath his jacket. He didn't want to use it, but he knew they had to be ready for anything.
"Hey!" Valentino called out, his voice firm. "What are you doing there?"
The man turned, a look of surprise quickly morphing into anger. "None of your business," he snarled, reaching into his tool bag.
Before he could pull out a weapon, Valentino lunged, knocking him to the ground. A brief struggle ensued, but the undercover officers quickly arrived to subdue the would-be saboteur.
In the chaos, Estelle noticed another figure slipping away, heading towards the museum's rear exit. She followed, determined not to let any of the Crows escape. As she rounded a corner, she found herself face-to-face with the leader of the Crows.
"Estelle," he sneered, recognizing her instantly. "I should have known you'd be involved."
"And I should have known you'd be here," she retorted, her eyes narrowing.
"But this ends now, I'll get what I want"
He laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You think you can stop us? You're outnumbered and outgunned."
"Maybe," she said, stepping forward, "but we have something you don't."
"What's that?" he asked, his smirk fading slightly.
"The Amount of information I had on the plan"
as she popped a revolver, and shot him
"scum, i'll do what I need to do amidst the chaos"
