I still haven't found out what to write for the college paper. I have one more week.

I'm freaking out in my room right now. My dad and mom aren't here. They needed a "date" to sort things out. Whatever that means.

So I call the person who knows me best. Paris.

"Hello?" Her voice echos through the phone.

"Yeah, hi. Uhm, I need your help."

"I'm with Rory right now. I'll call you later." And she hangs up.

Great.

I grabbed a blank piece of paper and started writing about me. I don't like writing about me but it's fine. It's only 250 words. That can't be that bad.

...

I finished. I wrote a whole paper about me and it felt nice. Well, it's not nice, but I'm proud of myself.

...

When I turned in my paper the next day, Mr. Long looked at my paper, read it, looked back at me, and said, "You're reading this in class."

"What?!" My eyes widened, and I started to panic.

"I'm helping you out. You need to do something to get out there. To do something that you are proud of. this isn't enough. You are an amazing person."

...

So that's what I was gonna do. For me. For college. For people. That sounds cringy, but Mr. Long was right. I'm so quiet I barely have any friends. But there's also a reason to that. I get skk anxious around other people.

I went to the front of room. "Hi. Some of you know me. Uhm, my names Ruby. I wrote my college paper and Mr. Long wanted you guys to hear it. So here you go."

I took a deep breath before continuing.

"College is a big step into the real world. It isn't like high school at all. It's like going to work. The only thing you gain from work is money. In college, you gain knowledge. It's not a bad thing. Both are both good for the future. I have always awaited the day I would go to college. My whole life has been based on college. Doing stuff for it, acting for it, getting grades for it. But now I'm looking at it, and why's it so awesome. I mean it's always good on job resumes and knowledge but that's really it. I grew up thinking about how without college I could become nothing. I mean some of the most successful people out there became big without college. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates. I mean, even Walt Disney did it. That's awesome. I'm an awesome person. I think. I'm not very awesome or anything but I can be cool. I love reading. Writing books, writing poems. Anything that has to do with writing I'm doing it. I love it. That's why I'm going o college. To learn more about being an author. And that jobs pretty big but I don't care. It's been my dream job since I was a baby. I have always been obsessed with books. It's like an escape and it's nice. I can be funny. Just ask any of my friends. I'm thoughtful of other people. There's not much else to put here, I think I described myself well enough."

I looked up from my paper and saw Logan staring at me with a wide smile on his smile. I then turn to Mr. Long who is looking at me with a caring expression.

"Thank you Autumn." He took my paper. "You can have a seat."

...

Logan walked me home and hung out for the rest of the day. When I went to lay down, that's when he said this. "We need to talk."

That's never a good sentence. "Sure, what's wrong?"

"You're an awesome person, Autumn, but I just love you too much." Logan had a smirk on his face.

"I hate you." He chuckled.

"You can hate me. You loooove me." He said and pulled me into his arms. "I was really proud of you today."

"Thanks."

"No problem."
