5 Months Later*
Peytons POV"Patrick!" I screamed from my room.
"What?" He asked running into my room. I pointed to my closet.
"T-there's a-a-spider." I said scared half to death.
"Where?" He asked me, looking un-amused.
"On my door." I said sitting on my bed. He went over and smashed it with his shoe. I thanked him with a hug. "You're my knight in shining armor." I told him. He laughed at me and went back downstairs to play with my brother and sister. My parents were on a trip for their vacation, but I couldn't go because of school. I went downstairs after changing into some shorts and a tank top. Even though Chicago was still a gloomy and cold place, I still liked looking cool. I walked downstairs and started making mac-n-cheese.
"Hello?" I heard Pat answer his phone. "Uh, yeah yeah. How about tomorrow at my house?" He said.
"Alright see you there, 6 o'clock." He said hanging up.
"Who was that?" I asked sitting beside him and cuddling up into his side.
"Hi, there." He said putting his arm around my shoulders. "It's this guy Joe, he's asked me to start a band." He said.
"Really, that's awesome." I said. I wanted to hang out with him tomorrow, but we're always together.
"You wanna come with me?" He asked me.
"I don't know I feel like i'd be a bother." I told him. He shook his head.
"You're never a bother." He said kissing my cheek. I smiled at the offer.
"Alright fine." I said blushing. Patrick and I aren't even together. I don't know why.
"We're supposed to meet this guy named Pete, he's like 23." He told me. I nodded and we played some video games and then ate and then put the kids to bed.
"I'll come to your house tomorrow after I drop Rose and Alex off at grandmas." I told him as he was on his way out the door.
"Alright, i'll see you tomorrow." He said. Hugging me and then kissing my lips passionately. I smiled when he pulled away to get in his car.
"Bye, Pattycakes." I waved.
"Bye Rosy cheeks." He said waving and pulling out of the driveway. I went upstairs and showered and went to bed. We have finals in 2 weeks and i'm more nervous about finals than I have been about anything. It's not like i'm not going to graduate, because I have extremely high grades, but finals are really stressful.
The morning*
"Alright, Rose Alex get your clothes on!" I screamed from the kitchen. I heard the pitter patter of tiny feet running around above me. "Pack your things!" I said trying to scramble eggs. When the kids came downstairs they sat and ate while I went upstairs and took a quick shower and put on some leggings and a Panic! shirt. I threw my hair up into a messy bun. I went into my bathroom again and grabbed my contacts.
"Shit." I said in a whisper. I ran out of contacts. I went over to my drawer and put on my glasses, I hated these, but if i'm going to be driving I have to be able to see.
"You guys ready to go?" I asked the kids.
"Yeah." They said in unison. I put the dishes away and they piled in the backseat of my car. We drove to granny's and they got out and I drove to Patricks. I knocked on the door and he opened it fairly quick.
"Hey." He said hugging me and kissing my cheek.
"Are they here yet?" I asked.
"Yeah they're in the garage." He said. I nodded and took off my shoes and walked to the garage. The two guy's heads popped up.
"Hi." I said sitting on the couch next to the fluffy headed one.
"Joe." He said holding out a hand to shake. I shook his hand and then the other one looked up from his guitar. He was playing bass.
"Pete." He said winking at me. I smiled and blushed.
"Alright, you ready?" Patrick said coming in and setting at his drumset. He started to drum and then Pete and Joe played along. They were playing But It's Better If You Do. I, out o habit started to sing. They went along with it.
"That was awesome." Pete said looking over at me.
"Yeah you guys were awesome." I said walking over to Patrick and kissing him softly on the lips. I wanted this Pete guy to understand something, and that was that Patrick was my only interest at the time. Patrick cleared his throat and blushed. I went back over to the couch.
"Can I give my opinion?" I asked.
"Yeah, of course." Joe said.
"I think Patrick should sing." I said. Patrick's face turned red.
"You sing?" Pete asked. Patrick nodded and he got up from the drums.
"Patrick why don't you do that song you said you were working on?" Joe said. I didn't know Patrick wrote music. He pulled out a folded piece of paper out of his back pocket and cleared his throat Joe must have had practice time because he played the guitar as Pat sang.My heart is on my sleeve
wear it like a bruise or black eye
my badge, my witness
that means that i believed
every single lie you said
cause every pane of glass that your pebbles tap negates the pains i went through to avoid you
and every little pat on the shoulder for attention fails to mention i still hate you
but there's a light on in Chicago
and i know i should be home
all the colors of the street signs..
they remind me of the pickup truck out in front of your neighbor's house
she took me down and said:
"boys like you are overrated. so save your breath."
loaded words and loaded friends
are loaded guns to our heads
cause every pane of glass that your pebbles tap negates the pains i went through to avoid you
and every little pat on the shoulder for attention fails to mention i still hate you
but there's a light on in Chicago
and i know i should be home
all the colors of the street signs..
they remind me of the pickup truck out in front of your neighbor's house
you want apologies
girl, you might hold your breath
until your breathing stops forever, forever
the only thing you'll get
is this curse on your lips:
i hope they taste of me forever
but there's a light on in Chicago
and i know i should be home
all the colors of the street signs.
they remind me of the pickup truck out in front of your neighbor's
with every breath i wish your body will be broken again
with every breath i wish your body would be broken again
with every breath i wish your body will be broken again
with every breath i wish your body would be broken again.
I wish I could have told you that night that I was in love with Patrick, but I couldn't even tell myself that. But little did I know the 8 months that have went past, I have spent those days with my Pattycakes. The word love doesn't even describe the way I feel about Patrick.
