Present Day
MonacoPierre and Ginny found themselves at the beach. It was quiet and dark and peaceful. There weren't any photographers or reporters in their faces, or family and friends shooting them sly glances.
The world seemed to have exploded after Pierre, who was preoccupied by thoughts of his etoile and anything but racing, turned around and kissed Ginny on camera. The paddock lit up like firecrackers- more likely because there were actual fireworks going off in the sky, shimmering down in the background of Ginny's live kiss.
She had blushed so hard, she worried her cheeks might burst into flames. Pierre had grinned at the reporter, winking, before grabbing Ginny's hand and whisking her away from the crowd. The others did not follow. Ginny caught sight of Chloe before the media could swallow her whole, and she just smiled. A sweet, nostalgic, smile.
Ginny knew she'd have to tell everyone the details later. Chloe would be the first to know. Timothée would only want to know bits and pieces. And Austin would be gone- back in the States working on his next project. She wondered what would happen now... with her and Pierre.
He had races to attend and she would start back teaching in a couple months.
Would he come visit her?
Would she visit him wherever he was on weekends... to watch a race?
Would they have time together?
She wasn't sure, and the many thoughts started to make her feel queasy. She'd worry about that later.
Now, it was all about Pierre.
Her Etoile.
Her love.
The beach was important for the both of them, that's why Ginny glanced over at him with a chuckle. He'd driven her to the same spot they first expressed their feelings... in that cave where they were able to mold into one source of love and compassion. Ginny couldn't see very far ahead, even with Pierre's headlights on, but she knew the cave was nearby and she figured Pierre was going to take her.
Even if they'd be stumbling in the dark. They'd be stumbling in the dark together. Pierre was outside, slamming the trunk down. He'd changed out of his race-wear and was back in street clothes: a pair of black draw-string shorts, white tee shirt that showed off his tight abs, and navy blue Vans. He ducked his head to peer into the car, looking at Ginny with a grin.
