Chapter 1: Officer Down, Thunder Rolls & Beth's Time To Shine

Previously on Chakram Reborn: (from the pilot episode)

Suddenly Andrea appears in front of them. She starts to walk around. "You know, it's a shame that I may have to kill you," Andrea says, "I actually liked you two."

"I hate you!" Beth says coldly.

Andrea walks up to her and says "You were the easiest to manipulate," Andrea says to Beth, "While you were growing up, I could just say anything to you, and you did what I said." In anger, Beth tries to break from her restraints, but Andrea walks away laughing. She then turns to Beth and says, "You blocked a lot out! Let me remind you of some things! Remember this!" Andrea stares into Beth's eyes causing her to remember something from her childhood. Beth starts to hyperventilate and screams in horror."

"Leave her alone, you bitch!" Sydney screams as she tries to break from her restraints. Andrea starts to laugh as she walks away from the group. "Your sister better show up! Otherwise it's goodbye for the three of you!"

Chapter 1: Officer Down, Thunder Rolls & Beth's Time To Shine

Opening Scene: At Sedona Memorial Hospital, Dr. Beth Papas-Decker looks at an x-ray of a ten-year-old girl who had just broken her arm below the shoulder. Beth then finishes putting on the pink cast that the girl has picked out. The girl wipes away a few tears as her mother says seriously, "That's the last time you're climbing a tree young lady! I told you that you'd fall!" The mom looks at Beth and asks, "So how long will the cast be on Miley, doctor?"

Beth looks at the mother and says, " Well six to eight weeks depending on the healing process. Otherwise we have wonderful orthopedic surgeons here at the hospital that your husband and you can pick from."

"You know, this is going to wreck our trip to Florida your father and I have planned for over a year!" says the mom with an angered tone of voice.

"I'm sorry mom!" Miley says, trying not to cry again.

"Hey there, it'll be ok, Miley!" Beth says. "I once got thrown from a horse and broke my shoulder and arm in two places. I was in a full cast for a year and had to have multiple surgeries to correct the arm, but I got back up, survived and learned from it. You see, things happen in life that you can't control. You just need to pick yourself up and learn from the situation." Beth then turns to the mother and says, "Don't be so hard on her. If it heals nicely, she could be in a waterproof cast by the time you go on your trip. Just don't have her go into the ocean where debris could get into the cast. She only broke her arm below the elbow, so it's a short cast." Beth looks at Miley and says, "You'll be fine, Miley! I'm giving your mom a prescription for extra strength children's pain medication. Take one every eight hours. It should dull the pain for a couple weeks, then children's Advil should help after."

Miley smiles at Beth and says, "Thanks Dr. Beth!"

"No problem, Miley!" Beth says as Miley gets off the examining table and Miley and her mother walks out of the examination room.

Beth then takes off her gloves and Dr. Addie Brewster walks in and says, "Dr. Pappas-Decker, you did a fine job handling Miley and her mother. Not many of our doctors can handle Miley's mother."

"Why's that Dr. Brewster?" Beth asks.

"Mrs. Garcia's husband is head surgeon here at the hospital. Manny is a great guy, his grandfather was Dr. Emilio Garcia, one of the best doctors we've ever had. The sad thing is Tia likes to use this fact to make herself look good in the community."

"Well Dr. Brewster, I'm from New York, we tend to not care who you are. My priority was Miley."

"See, that's why I chose you to mentor. You have that "I don't give a shit mentality about things. Your patients come first and foremost."
