Nerium's Story

Chapter 6: The News

As she approached the long, wooden table and sat in an empty seat, with her mother, father, younger brother, and Lucifer's family? She almost choked on her cranberry juice. 'What's he doing here..?' Confused and infuriated, she scooted next to her brother, Bakul. Bakul's eyes widen, "Not Kyle..." his expression nervous and vulnerable, as if Kyle could crush him with just his pinky finger. Nerium was in deep thought, 'In Lucifer's family, there's his mom, dad, brother, and twin sisters, the twins being the most tolerable, the mom and dad, obnoxious and braggers, Lucifer the combination of them, Kyle a troublemaker always getting Bakul in trouble and the twins, pranksters but never takes it too far.'

Her parents looked at her, her dad speaking first, colder than usual though, "You certainly took your time to get here, but the important part is that you've come," The Queen of Quaveh, (Nerium's mother) added, "The Clathomae's have proposed something that we shall have an alliance," Nerium nods, though skeptical, and sips her juice again, her dad continues, "Through an arranged marriage," Nerium chokes on her cranberry juice again, "An ARRANGED MARRIAGE?!"

She blurts out, the twins shoot some water at her face, she feels incredibly infuriated, but not by the twins' actions. Lucifer's mom added, "In the next 3 days, you're going to be wedded," by this she slams the table. Or that's what she thought she did, because she was day dreaming, she opened her eyes, trying to make her tone less hostile, "How great!" She gritted her teeth, with the most obvious amount of sarcasm that she had probably ever used in her entire life. Lucifer then smirked, Kyle asked, "What are you doing with your face?" then tried to mimic him. Lucifer's parents were talking with Nerium's parents, mostly bragging about their wonderful, well everything. Mrs. and Mr. Quaveh were listening, interested though not very much.

Lucifer sauntered by, "Told you so princess~" She shook her head, 'When did they even arrive? Why was I not informed? Argh... he's so annoying...!' She furrowed her eyebrows, and Bakul came running to her, while Kyle was reaching for him, "Come on... You're such a scardy cat Bakul!" Nerium shielded her brother, "Stop it, he doesn't like it,"
Kyle: "Whatcha gonna do about it princess?"
Nerium smiled, "Sure you want to know?"
Kyle: "Yep,"
She signaled to Bakul who seemed to understand, and they started tickling Kyle. Kyle laughed and giggled hard, "Stop...! Hahahaha! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I give," Nerium and Bakul stopped tickling him, and Kyle skipped away.

The family dinner went, not terribly. Nerium sighed, and headed to see Onise, "I'll excuse myself from dinner,"
Lucifer: "Mind if I came with?~"
Nerium: "Yes, I do mind, so don't follow me,"
She goes out the door, and hear a creak, she huffs, "Do you not have... EARS?!" Luicfers raises his hands in the air, "Hey, I was just getting some fresh air,"
Nerium points to the balcony, "Over there, lots of fresh air, I hope you enjoy it so much, that you fall..." She muttered the falling part, and again headed for Onise once more.

Onise looked at the stars but well aware of his surroundings, and heard Nerium's panting near by, "Onise...! I need to tell you something," She breathes some more before talking, because she ran from the dining hall to the castle wall, "So, in the next 3 days, I'm gonna get married, to Lucifer...!" Onise's eyes widen, "WHAT?!" He shakes his head, "How could this be..?" Nerium's blue hair was tied, and she pointed outside the castle gates, "Let's hang out for now,"
