Chapter 15

You know that moment when you find comfort in one place and hope that moment lasts forever? That moment when you find your reality, your home.
That place where suddenly everything else disappears and you finally feel free?
That was what Gemini's house became to Fourth
Several days had now passed since his arrival at the other's house and he had not found the strength to leave it.
The two of them spent their time reading - yes, Gemini had finally convinced him to read by buying him an edition of Agatha Christie's 10 Little Indians and Fourth had been glued to that book for hours, finishing it in no time and desperately wanting to read more by the famous mystery author - or making music.
Gemini, in fact, had this beautiful piano where the two of them delighted themself in singing.
The taller one had even taught Fourth a few notes, before the latter decided he definitely preferred to sing.
And they talked.
They talked a lot.
About anything.
Gemini would tell him, while preparing dinner, about the specialities his grandmother used to make for him as a kid, foods that Fourth had never tried because of the prejudices that had always haunted him.
Or he would show him the various photo albums his family had created since he was a child - at Fourth's request, he obviously wanted to mock his baby pictures - and they would laugh at all the funny expressions little Gemini created.
And Fourth would tell him other little things about himself, things that weren't written in the papers.
Things that only Gemini would know.
Of that time when one of his mother's assistants had managed to get him a cheesecake for his birthday, secretly from his mother's judging eyes.
Before she fired her, of course.
Or the time he got his first hangover at a high school party and went swimming naked in the pool.
They were loving each other a lot, with small touches, light kisses and gentle caresses.
But also with long nights when Fourth would let himself be drugged with Gemini's perfume, sinking his nails into his strong back as their breaths came together in unison.
And finally, the youngest was trying to learn to recognise his emotions and to welcome them, not reject them.
Fourth was learning to love, to cry, to let go himself completely.
Without the need for alcohol.
And so each night they slipped into bed, together, with much lighter hearts, locked in their own little paradise.

But unfortunately out there the world kept spinning and Earth arrived daily on the verge of a crisis in Mix's living room every time Fourth didn't answer his call.
"He hasn't answered for days, what does Gemini say? I don't know how much I'll be able to keep his mother calm, i swear" the elder said taking the glass the other had just offered him, before sitting down on the couch beside him.
"I heard him honey, he said Fourth is fine but he's been keeping his phone off for days...you just need to give him some space..." Mix replied trying to calm him down by stroking his black hair.
The taller man shifted so that his head landed on the boy's shoulder.
"I would give him all the space he deserves, I swear, but Raylai's assistant has already contacted me and it's a matter of hours before she comes to kill me, I know it," Earth replied, sighing in despair.
"If he comes to kill you, I'll be there to defend you!" Mix replied, trying to make his partner laugh.
Earth looked up, looking at him softly.
"And what would you do h? Mix you cried when you accidentally stepped on a spider in the street the other day" he teased him, stroking his head.
The other boy gave a slight pout.
"Think of how many children he left at home...oh god I'm a monster!" the brown man cried as Earth burst out laughing at the drama of the scene.

On the other side of town meanwhile Fourth, heedless of the disasters his absence was causing, was serenely reading his new mystery novel, lying on Gemini's lap while the other one tenderly ran his hand through his hair.
The taller one was using the phone, reading all the alert messages his manager was sending him.
He knew that the little paradise he had created with Fourth would not last long and the thought of the youngest's mother sent a shiver down his spine.
He lowered his gaze slightly as he looked at the boy's sweet face beneath him, sighing.
That sigh attracted the attention of Fourth who looked up, crossing his gaze with the other one's.
"Everything's ok Gem?" he asked, closing the book on his chest.
The other nodded slightly, lost in his eyes, before regaining consciousness and shaking his head.
"Mh..not really..." replied Gemini making the boy sit down to finally be face to face.
"Fourth, I'm really happy with you, but we can't stay locked in this house forever...you know that right? We have a job and people waiting for us..." Gemini said slowly, trying to dose each word to not be misunderstood by the other.
Fourth swallowed slightly without leaving the other's eyes.
"Why not? We're so good here...I'm so happy..." He said, looking at him pleadingly.
"Fourth." Gemini said, taking his face in his hands "you're happy here only because you're away from your problems."
And Fourth felt a twinge in his chest stronger than usual.
The reality of the facts hit him straight in the heart and now he felt wrong, like a mess
A sudden shiver ran through his body, making him freeze.
It's true.
He was feeling happy with Gemini because he didn't have to deal with everything else there.
Because Gemini made him feel free.
"You're right...I...I need to talk to Phuwin...I need to hear from Earth, oh god how worried he'll be about me..." Fourth said standing up and quickly searching for his mobile phone.
"Fourth, hey, calm down" Gemini said chasing after him and stopping him by the arm bringing him back into his arms "Earth is fine, I've been keeping in touch with Mix these past few days and he reassured him...it's alright, I promise" he said looking into his eyes with a smile.
Fourth looked at him with tears in his eyes before resting his head against the other's chest.
"I don't know if I'll be able to look at Phuwin after that night...he probably hates me...god, I've ruined everything."
"I'm sure you'll be able to work it out with him Fourth, you're the Nattawat prodigy, you can do anything you want" Gemini replied before meeting the eyes of the shorter boy.
The other gave him a slight smile before settling his gaze on his lips.
But before he could make any movement someone rang the doorbell.
The two looked at each other confused.
"Did you order anything?" asked Gemini to the other who shook his head quickly.
The two broke away, approaching the door.
And when Gemini opened it, he found himself facing his worst nightmare.
Right in front of his eyes.
"Mom?"
